GGG: Please allow white sockets to meet trade site socket requirements when selected. If I ask for 6L blue, some of those being white would still meet the criteria.

Synthesis is a great template for a league

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:54 AM PDT

    Although with poor execution.

Synthesis had 3 parts which all big leagues should have

    1. Memory fragments inside maps (Something that increases map density and which is easily avoidable if wanted)
    2. Memory Nexus (Some kind of league only board/atlas/objectives)
    3. Synthesizer crafting (Some kind of high level crafting/attraction for top players)

    Memory fragments inside maps

GOOD: Memory fragments did a great job of increasing mob density inside a map. People who wanted to just ignore this mechanic could just not enter into the memory portal. People who wanted to play the league minimally could just clear these memory fragments for additional mob density and not bother with the rest of the league

BAD: Decaying fragments thematically made sense but in real implementation was kind of frustrating. It would randomly cutoff the only path to memory stabilizers some times.

SOLUTIONS: Just wait for the time to run out and all the decay could kick in all at once. Kind of like Alva temporal incursion would have been great

    Memory Nexus

GOOD: You could originally create chains of memory fragments which would amplify risk and rewards. Spawning bosses was somewhat predictable.

BAD: Like other aspects of the league, this part was quite frustrating. Sometimes, random islands would spawn and mess up your island chains. The storage capacity of memories was just 10. Because of small storage, you had to interrupt your mapping and play memory nexus otherwise you'd lose out on all the memories.

SOLUTIONS: The memory chains could be sealed without travelling there to stop spawning random islands. the memory tiles should be able to rotate. Storage capacity for memory tiles can be increased a lot to avoid mapping interruption

    Synthesizer Crafting:

GOOD: Crafting enabled some really interesting items like onslaught implicit boots, curse on hit implicit rings, explody weapons etc. Although these items might not be crazy now because of opportunity cost of losing out on influence bases, but back in the day, they were exciting.

BAD: Unfortunately, this meant storing and picking up lot of fractured items. Base selected for synthesis was random out of 3.

SOLUTIONS: Fractured items could always drop identified. Synthesizer can have recipe showing what stats are needed for a particular implicit. Once you gather you 3 fractured items, Synthesizer can show you what possible implicit can result out of collective stats of all 3 items.

Future: Why am I bringing this up now?Although Synthesis is a shadow of its former self, maybe for both good and bad reasons, I think thematically synthesis is quite interesting because of its memory theme. As we know POE is getting bloated with mechanics and after additions of new mechanics, Old mechanics and bosses need to go somewhere. Thematically it just makes sense to have them as someone else's memory. For ex. Shaper and Elder are gone so it only makes sense that we encounter them in someone else's memory in memory nexus. As we get endgame expansions, conquerors, sirus, maven all have to be dealt with a certain way. I think this is a great opportunity. Make Synthesis Great Again. Let me know what you guys think.

New to the game and loving it. Question about skills and leveling.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:00 AM PDT

Ok it took a little while to really understand everything but holy crap now I'm hooked. Playing an archer and loving the leveling process and the puzzle of placing gems to get the best skills, etc.

One question: I'm at about level 13 and the new skills just keep on coming. Does it continue at this rate or am I close to seeing all the skills the game has to offer? Are there new ways to customize and evolve your character coming later or is this pretty much how you define your character?

Allow Wild Strike to be used without a weapon

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:14 PM PDT

It works with every melee weapon already, might as well have it work when you're unarmed too.

Dear GGG, I Hate You. (Well, not really. But kinda. Well, not at all actually...but there's a special place in hell for the person who keeps approving the Vaal City map...just saying...(I love you (GGG, not the person who approves Vaal City))

I found a lighting bug that only appears at the top of the screen, is it normal?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 12:48 AM PDT

(New to the game) Do all classes share gems for the most part? If so, what really separates the classes?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 12:24 PM PDT

Do characters share the same pool of skills? If so, are classes less important/distinct in POE than other games?

Why is the Trash to Treasure prophecy so expensive?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:12 PM PDT

The Trash to Treasure prophecy currently costs about 9 exalts in Ultimatum. Since most uniques are junk, why is convervting a normal to a unique so valuable. Am I missing something? Is it just people trying to gamble normal belts to Headhunters? I can see the use for SSF where you need to try for uniques but still the 9 ex seems very excessive since the odds of getting a valuable unique seems so low. Curious to know what people use this for.

Whoops, should not have watched synthesis league trailer... :(

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:33 AM PDT

So I started playing poe in 3.10, only knowing that once upon a time there was a synthesis league of which only 5 unique maps remain. I am a little bored poe-wise atm and checked the trailer out. Sigh. Looks cool, now I want to play synthesis league. I know there were bugs and annoyances in the first weeks, buuuuuut still. It pretty, it's a cool idea and I am sad not being able to try it.

There are no plans of reviving that mechanic or does anyone know of something like that?

    Blight Cyst UI Missing

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 06:10 AM PDT

So, I started playing around with Graphic settings after the latest update, and now I no longer see the UI elements above blight cysts after I complete a map (those icons stating the type of reward above blight/legion/etc chests).

Yeah it's not a critical bug, but it's really annoying walking around with the map overlay to loot, especially when there's 2 nodes overlapping and one of them you don't want to pop (armor, rings).

    Any way to fix this?

    Perma initial loading screen

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:59 AM PDT

Ever since last patch launch i'm having trouble getting past the gear screen, not the first one where you can see "grinding gear games" but the second one where the two gear wheels spin together. I don't know what to do. I restarted my PC several times and also waited 10 mins to see if it was just a matter of time loading the screen but nothing worked. Can anyone help me?

    Would like some input,

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 10:44 AM PDT

I've wanted to try building a CoC forever but I never get close to the currinece needed to build one, so for next league I would like to know what acesdency has the easiest time getting there. I really want to get a coc/cwc or a flicker strike build that actually works.

Flicker strike is like my favorite ability but I couldn't even get past yellow maps with oros raider, but I really enjoy exploding whole screens so was thinking coc/cwc.

Can you recommend me pob guide to a build that will enable me to finish acts 1-10 in HC ssf? (Will be my 2nd season soon)

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:39 AM PDT

    Hey!

So ultimate was my first League. I was insane enough do go HC ssf as my first char in my first season and unfortunately died in act 6 because I swapped my weapons to change gems I wanted to lvl while not in use and forgot to change back to main weapons which resulted in defensive layers not being active and obviously missing damage. (Such as blood and sand)

I died 3 more times in acts 6-10 so I wouldn't be able to do it anyway with my gladiator bladestorm build.

After reaching maps I started over in SC ssf with my poison bf/bb assa, where i died A LOT, especially later in maps, but because of softcore I just tried to go faster towards map. played till red maps, like 20 watch stones and 60 map completions or sth.

My goal for upcoming season is to finish story without dieing in HC ssf. What build can you recommend? Obviously it should be easy to follow for a newb (like most importantly a leveling section maybe) and also good defensive layers.
