    Budget bosser?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 09:29 PM PDT

Hello! I've lurked on this sub for a while and have a request for you wonderfully helpful folks.

I'm look for a solid boss killer that can carry an extra person. I have 4000 hours in PoE and still can't come up with a solid bosser on a budget.

I currently have a 94 Herald of agony jugg which is great but the damage is painfully slow and takes ages to kill even 1 person bosses. I've tried cold conversation carrion golem, spider summoner , summon raging spirits and holy flame totem chieftain and nothing seems good enough.

My account name is Belisma if you wanna see my jugg.

Any suggestions would be massively appreciated!!

    Herald and traps

    Posted: 15 Sep 2021 02:28 AM PDT

    Hey!

I thought traps didn't apply herald effects, but my phys trapper is summoning minions with herald of purity. Anyone knows what's going on, and if it would also work with herald of ice's explosions? Also, kind of a related question, say I want to go cold conversion on a exsang/seismic trapper, I was thinking of going herald of ice for the shatter, but since I'm converting, would herald of purity remain relevant, especially if the shatters on ice don't work while it's minions do work.

    Thanks for the help!

My Blood Rage is Killing me!

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 07:30 PM PDT

Not sure why my life is going down so dang fast! With Golem's blood/master of the arena/warriors blood I should have 4.4% life regen per second. Blood Rage uses 4%. Yet for some reason my life gets drained in a matter of seconds if I'm standing still and not killing anything.

I recently got an axe and crafted trigger on it so I could keep my blood rage up. But for some reason now I just bleed out if I'm not killing mobs.

Can someone take a look and see what I'm missing and why my life is draining so fast? Thanks!

    https://pastebin.com/01N1Yg7B

EDIT: Hmm, must of been some map mod I didn't notice (TBH I might have been standing on desecrated ground when this was happening. I just ran another map and my life was not draining. I'm an idiot.

Golem Buff Effect stacking in 3.15?

    Posted: 15 Sep 2021 03:37 AM PDT

Having done all content on my last character I set out to create some meme-y char to waste my currency on.
After a while I landed on Elementalist since I have never actually played the ascendancy. Investing into Golem Buff Effect (already getting like 170% just from the flat buffs on the Tree & Ascendancy) and number of Golems with Primordial Chain and Anima Stone, I ended up with ~600% increased Golem Buff effect. The buffs that stood out to me the most were:

    • ~55%+ Attack and Cast Speed from Lightning Golem
    • ~200% (!) increased Crit Chance and Accuracy from Ice Golem

I could not really find much information on this topic on the wiki, so If I am not mistaken these are per Golem meaning with 5 Ice Golems we're looking at 1000% increased Accuracy Rating and Crit Chance

One of the first things that came to mind was an Accuracy Stacker. These huge % Accuracy increases could come close to pre-nerf cluster jewel build. Of course you don't have access to the % Attack Speed per 150 Accuracy on Juggernaut which normally is a huge part of these builds. A skill that doesn't need huge attack speed is Blade Trap. One could still run Architect's or Slavedriver's since the Crit from Oskarm usually taken on AccStacking chars is compensated by Ice Golem too. (Also a Trap tree starting from Witch is more forgiving lol)

Another choice would be doing something similar to Mathil's 3.13 Crackling Lance build, just brute-forcing some spell or attack with the speed and damage increases from Flame and Lightning golem.

For both variants I threw together some quick PoBs but the numbers looked very underwhelming

tl;dr: Golem Buff Effect stacking maybe gives some huge buffs? Has anybody done something using this recently? If so, how did it turn out?

Blazing Salvo+ Ngamahu Cyclone build+ Cast on Crit?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 08:03 PM PDT

I possess a feeling this could be an amazing combination . I'm not someone who is well versed in creating my own builds, so I am looking for some help with theory crafting this. Here is the original link to the Ngamahu+Cyclone build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1819239 Also thinking that fork would be well played with this. ⠀ Thoughts?

Seismic/Exsang trapper seeking help on defense

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 12:30 PM PDT

    Hi guys:

I am playing this trapper and the damage is pretty good. I am struggling on defense tho (getting one shot on T16, can't get pass lv 90) and I need your input.

    Here's the pob https://pastebin.com/Xz9J2zdb

    Question:

I am going LL with petrified blood and I heard that it's not worth going LL unless you have over-leech. I am reserving just below 50% life (2154 reserved, right now 2170/4341) and I have a ring that has % Phy damage leeched as life (from delve). Am I getting over-leech?

I have about 3~4 ex that I can spend. How can I improve my defense?

    Thanks!

Need help with my Lightning Strike Raider

    Posted: 15 Sep 2021 02:22 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

so I have a lot of hours in POE but honestly I just random follow builds but want to really get better at the game now. So I have made a Lightning Strike Raider and while it works quite well, I cannot do Nem 3 farming and generally dunno where to improve now and what the next steps should be. I have the feeling that I still lack some damage for Beyond Bosses for example.

    Here is my POB: https://pastebin.com/KDtJu0YY

Frenzy Stacking Lightning Arrow Raider looking for professional help from the build gods

    Posted: 15 Sep 2021 02:02 AM PDT

Hi, first time posting in this sub!

I've decided to end the league with a build that i finally try to build myself instead of blindly following a build guide.

It's a Frenzy stacking Lightning Arrow Raider that mostly scales with crit and flat lightning damage (no explicit conversion). Clearing maps feels really really nice with my 6L Inpulsa Chest, LA with GMP, Conductivity curse on hit and Hydrosphere socketed in Asenaths Chant. I'm also using a Voidfletcher quiver as that easily adds > 100k flat total dps.

However, there's two topics that aren't that great.

For one, the build feels extremely squishy. I'm only sitting at 3k Life and 450ES. 1k Life Leech on Hit and triggering Steelskin on left click helps, but i still get one-shotted often. I'm still trying to get my last ascendancy and allocate Avatar of the Veil which should help in that regard (less accuracy for enemies, 50% ailment avoidance). It's still a Raider at the end of the day and feeling squishy is part of it i guess.

The second, and more pressing problem, is the lacking single target DPS. So far i've tried the following things:

    - Galvanic Arrow / Ballista Totem / Barrage (currently using that)

    - LA / Ballista Totem / Barrage

    - Siege Ballista / Multiple Totems / Barrage

Full DPS with all skills combined is 466k. Galvanic Arrow Totem sits at 100k DPS, Lightning Arrow at 177k, Void Shot at 145k.

I'd really appreciate if someone had an idea or could take quick look at the PoB to see where i'm going wrong with this. I don't really know anymore which direction i should go to make this build not lack single target dps that hard.

Unfortunately there's not much headroom anymore with gearing up, i only have around 200c left but i'm still open for ideas.

    POB: https://pastebin.com/ZM85paW4

    Thanks a lot <3

I've tried a bunch of builds this league and nothing has stuck. Recommendations?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 02:44 PM PDT

Currently sitting with 3 ex in the bank and I've gone through about a dozen builds this league that I didn't enjoy for one reason or another. In previous leagues I made all my money rushing through maps and killing end game bosses. I've killed Sirus a couple times this league and most of my builds die frequently in red maps.

    Some builds I've tried:

SST -> shield upgrades ended up being 20+ ex for upgrades and my damage was still low

Accuracy stack spectral helix jugg -> got ~20k accuracy but the helix playstyle doesnt clear fast enough

Poison wander -> Early map damage was just terrible, wasn't a fan of the defenses either

Leadership price MoM miner -> Great damage, but clunky and build is a shell of its former self. Hard to balance attribute stacking, tons of uniques, and life/mana.SRS ascendant -> Couldn't afford cluster jewel upgrades, have no idea how to scale defenses while stacking the auras.

Bane Occultist -> Scaled up decently well, boss damage is low and my survivability is meh

Forbidden Rite Occultist -> Was scaling up decently but mapping feels terrible with totems and defenses arent super great

CoC Barrage Deadeye-> Most successful build so far, super fun, 1 button, decent damage, but shit defenses. Sitting at 3k life, life gain on spell hit not as impactful as I would've hoped

I'm looking to maybe go back into a summoner, but having a ton of different minions was off-putting, don't understand spectres/AG, and a lot of builds seem high budget entry. Perhaps there is a minion build that scales from no budget to high budget, that isn't too big brain for me?

What I look for in a build:

    - Scalability- Smoothness of mapping- Solid defenses for all content- Bossing doesn't take years

    Need a post-Sirus pep talk

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 07:17 AM PDT

EDIT -- I want to thank all of the people who have responded to provide advice / input as well as encouragement. Lots of useful tips in the replies here, all appreciated.

Well, I've now lost to Sirus three times. I've only unlocked and fought him three times, and lost each time. The worst part is that I think this last time, I was the least successful. This last time in SSF.

Each time, I get to part 3 with only 1 or 2 deaths (stupid mistakes). But in part 3, I end up getting super-duper slowed by *something* (one of the rotating beams?) and then it feels like I'm just running in quicksand trying to get out of meteor mazes or evading rotating beams and I can't even find Sirus in all of that mess before I get beamed to death.

Current build is a Skeleton / Spectre necro, and the hope is that the minions do the damage while I run around. The damage seemed fine, probably, but again I couldn't even really say because in Phase 3 I can't actually locate Sirus long enough to even be sure my minions are in the right place, let alone catch a glimpse of the health bar.

I'm linking my build so that anyone who wants to can look for obvious flaws. Resists are all maxed. Have decent block, particularly when offering is active. Physical damage reduction is poor, which is an issue, but I don't see how it's a solvable one on this character.

Obvious gear upgrades would include getting a lvl 21 spectre gem (I've been trying) or a +1 minion level wand / shield so that I can summon an additional spectre. Also would help if I could find / link a 6-link armor for Summon Skeletons. But those upgrades would mainly improve damage. I don't know what would allow this character to move around more easily or not die so immediately in phase 3 of the Sirus fight. Kinda makes me think I should have rolled an unstunnable / unslowable Juggernaut. But then, of course, damage would be my issue ....

Now I also have to try to re-spawn Sirus, which is a huge pain. To be honest, this has happened several times now. I spend a league working to unlock Sirus, I put off doing the fight because I know it's going to be frustrating, and then when I finally do it, I lose in the final phase and pretty much lose motivation.

    Beginner seeking build for Trickster.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 12:01 PM PDT

(Sorry, I posted this earlier, but was having technical difficulties on my phone, so I had to deleted it. I'm on my PC acct now. Thank you.)

Hello. I have been playing for a few weeks. I have not beaten the game, but I'm pretty far into the acts. Act 7 I think. I own Path of Building.

I have never used any sort of build or build guide or anything. Because I have never found one that is actually eli5 beginner friendly. The ones I have seen are geared to advanced users presuming knowledge of more advanced concepts. I definitely have gotten a good understanding of lots of concepts. But still these guides are super confusing when it comes to some things.

I prefer a dual-rune-dagger Trickster using blinks. With fire or elemental. So far I have been using Frenzy for main attack. Blazing Salvo for secondary. With Herald of Ash. Blasphemy-Flammability aura. Flickerstrike and Flamedash to fight enemies while blinking around. Trickster ascendency with no mana cost to blinks.

But I have heard strange things about this game. Like it presents it self to have a broad options for all kinds ways to go with your character. However, some have said it instead pigeon holes you so bad that you pretty much have to build in specific ways. That it's almost like playing a predefined classes anyway. And meta builds might as well be like those predefined classes to choose from with little variance. Not sure how much of this is hearsay. Or if can setup a build that is just as strong using my playstyle.

Especially since I'm not sure, even with Rune Daggers, if it's optimal to do both attacks and spells. It does seems like there needs to be points into one or the other to maximize it. Rather than spread points between both. Or if it's better to improve them both globally for best results.

I definitely enjoy Trickster. Mainly I like the blink stuff. I didn't go any Power Charge. But I was thinking it would be better to go Power/Frenzy than just Frenzy. The ascension has stuff that seems interesting for that combo. Wondering about a good build that can function well beyond beating the main game and practice for hardcore. Thank you.

Help me create a Monk class - high AS melee / leech / tanky / skills that match the theme?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 08:35 PM PDT

    Hey all,

I've never created my own character before and I'm tempted to experiment as this league dries up.

I've loved Monks in other games, the tanky high attack speed, face tank, leech, holy active skills on top of the main melee attack.

Do you reckon it's possible to make something in POE like this? Which skills / class / items (uniques?) would you suggest? I like the idea of either claws or unarmed.

I saw this build thread which is quite close to what I'd like, although blade flurry seems a little closer to what i was imagining. See below. Hollow palm kind of makes sense too.

    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2930619

inquisitor seems to match the theme of a holy monk, but the build in this video is apparently dead now.

Any one got any thoughts to contribute?

    Cheers.

I know it's asking quite a bit but any information/guidance would be super helpful and much appreciated!

    Help with DD necromancer!

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 11:55 AM PDT

So i changed my necromancer from a minion build to a DD build. I went with the zizaran guide on this one but idk. I don't like trinity never played with it damage on bosses is REALLY lack luster sirus a4 took me a good 5 mins to kill (only last phase in total was like 8 mins).

    Is trinity the best option?

So in my build i am trinity with spellslinger desecrate but the delay is really anoying from the mobs spawning it takes like 0.5 seconds and is really anoying to get adjusted to.

Like i said my damage feels bad clearing T16 maps is fine but the bosses i just struggle with not dying but just killing them. A T16 boss takes a good 1-1.5 mins to kill depended on boss. for the raise spectre i use the heist spectre from tunnels the rusted something.

    here is my POB: https://pastebin.com/MnXbnFHi

So i know my gear is kinda garbage its like 1 ex in total most of my currency went into buying the gems tbh. But how can i improve this and is it still possible for me to go selfcast desecrate or can i still salvage trinity?

Edit: Just did a spicy t16 map timed myself on the boss it was tower so unlucky boss it took 1:36sec. but i just relized my spectres also die really fast in maps 1 died during this map. I see alot of people using elemental army with raise spectre but i can't or i would need a unset ring and put my flame dash in there.

Does anyone know what happens if you replace the Enchant 'Can have 1 additional crafted Modifier' on a heist armour after crafting 2 modifiers on it?

Does it keep both crafts? Remove one at random?

I tried googling but could only find other threads speculating about it back in heist, no clear answer.

Need Help on on this build

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 09:31 AM PDT

I'll start by saying I'm a big noob. I'm playing my first ever cast on crit build, and while its fun and zoom zooms, I thought it would be better on bossing and sometimes... it just doesn't work? (self ignite via crits. If I don't crit then I don't ignite, and I do zero damage)

Here is the POB I'm following. https://pastebin.com/pbjPEqQ5

    Here is my POB. https://pastebin.com/jvdTAT6k

Other than the awakened spell cascade (would give me 5x instead of 3x), this person's damage is 4x what mine is. I'm trying to get close to that.

Also... I avoid the 'hits cannot be crits' in expedition, but this build just feels like sometimes it just doesn't work? Mobs with higher block chance just don't do anything. I don't know if there's anyway around that.

Mainly though, I'm happy with my clearspeed, I just thought my boss killing would be better. Anything anyone can do to help get that single target damage to be higher, would be greatly appreciated.
