You can plan your Tree in the new PoB now

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 03:57 AM PDT

If you download this link you can get the new PoB, all you need to do is go to runtime > PathOfBuilding.exe and you have the new tree. Keep in mind that this still has some bugs and reservation isn't calculated properly yet but you at least see all the new Masteries and nodes.

Edit: Okay somehow the link bricked, maybe to many people using it at the same time

Edit2: updates the Link to work again.

Does Shock Nova hit twice, or once for double damage in the area of the ring?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2021 10:23 PM PDT

I can't find information about this anywhere, no matter where I search. Anyone happen to know? Maybe somehow give shock nova 100% chance to poison and hit a mob?

Shock Nova is looking like it might have the highest base damage for the sake of Ignite that doesn't have a steep conditional.

Is storm brand a viable league start?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2021 10:20 PM PDT

With the minor buffs to brands this league and that fact that I really enjoy the play style I'm wondering if this guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3079363 would be a viable league start. I'm a bit worried that it will be hard to farm up the currency to go LL with 2x COTB.

    What do you guys think?

    EDIT: As an occultist

Understanding PoE's character damage for beginners.

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 05:07 AM PDT

A few of my friends asked me to help them understand the basics of how to scale character damage, so I wrote this little "guide". I am posting it here in case any of you may find it useful.

    Dear ignite enthusiasts

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 01:20 AM PDT

I'd like to start the league with an ignite build, though I am not sure which version is the best. I don't have a preference to any of the ignite skills, so I'm very open to suggestions. Please help a newbie out!

Tossing Up 3 Builds. Details Inside!

    Posted: 17 Oct 2021 11:59 PM PDT

    Hey exiles!

    You've always been a great resource to help me decide on what I want to play. I always go hard on league start and am aiming to be in red maps by the end of day 1. My league start plan is to run a lot of Heists, Breaches and Blights. The three builds I'm tossing up are;

Skeleton Mages. I've played a tonne of minion builds in the past but never mages. It seems super strong early and cheap to get going, I also think the piercing screen of projectiles are well suited for the content I want to run. I'm a bit worried how they'll handle Blights though. Also the minion passive masteries don't seem super 'wow'.

Freezing Pulse Totems - I've played this a few times and love the build. Always scales super well and I think is a good fit with the mechanics I wanted to farm. The passive masteries also seem pretty cool for totems. I'm hoping with the Forbidden Rite nerfs it'll put a fair few people away from the playstyle which will hopefully make it cheaper than usual.

Scourge Arrow - Never played the skill but it's always been on my list to try out. Seems super cool, and I think it'll handle the Scourge mechanic well alongside the ones I want to farm.

Just curious if people have given any thought to these kinds of builds, or have any hands on experience with the skills. Would love to know how you found them when handling Blight, Heist and Breach specifically.

    Thanks!

My plan: Strength stacking, Armagedon Brand Inq...can it work as a starter?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 01:25 AM PDT

First: Sorry I never posted here, I am just very hyped about 3.16, and this time I want to start without any guide.

My plan: As we have seen in the Announcement videos there is a passive mastery that gives 1% Fire Dmg per 20 Strength. Also, we have the option to get 2 additional Brands via the Brand passive mastery. We have Iron Will on the passive tree (gives Spell Damage per 5 strength). Both Iron will and RuneBinder is very close to the Templar area.

My plan would be to create an Armageddon Brand, strength-stacking Inquisitor (I like the Pious Path buff).

Do you guys think this can work as a league start, even though it is a stat-stacking character?

Or in general, do you think it will be enough damage to red maps. I don't want to invest too much time in an idea that is horrible, because I am missing something.

Why is no one is talking about absurd amount of max block you can get now? Isn't it good?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 01:18 AM PDT

Hkw are you HC players going to get tanky with your starter?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 03:48 AM PDT

Since I'm starting with a trap build and based on the trailer, I'm worried that mobs in the scourge nightmare will be on top of me pretty often while the traps arm.
But I can't get the ehp numbers in PoB very high leaving out blind and fortify.
My solution was to invest in armor, but this leaves a big weakness in elemental damage. Later in the league I can fix it with divine flesh or a lot of max res, but the start is gonna be pretty rough without it. Getting two main defenses doesn't seem that easy either, and for non glad, necro and Scion it seems difficult to go for block.
So what have you thought about for defenses?

    Poison Concoction Starter?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 03:40 AM PDT

Now that we can let go of the hopium for it scaling with flask effect and whatnot, and assuming the level 20 skill gem isn't too crazy - can a build like this potentially get off the ground with minimal investment? I've never done a poison character before, so Idk about the effectiveness of plague bearer and whatnot or even how to build them. Considering winging it because eh, might be more fun that way. Worst case scenario I just reroll into something usable.

With the aura nerfs what do you guys think is a good 3/4 man party compositions?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 04:56 AM PDT

In previous leagues me and my friends played core of aurabot+caster carry and w/e other supports people wanted to play , but now one aurabot can't do it all. What carry and support builds do you think should be run in a different party sizes?

Recover 2% of life when you ignite a non-ignited enemy + reduced ignite duration/faster ignite

    Posted: 17 Oct 2021 07:45 AM PDT

EDIT: This method has a critical problem with global minimum ignite duration of 0.3s, see comments

"Recover 2% of life when you ignite a non-ignited enemy" is a new fire mastery talent

I'm not sure if 100% reduced ignite duration would work, but some combination of 99% reduced duration and faster ignite (say, Replica Emberwake to start) would likely get you . . . salutations?

Ideally of course you'd time it so one ignite would end just before your next attack, say with cyclone or something, so you could still scale ignite damage. But even without that, it might be some interesting survivability tech (unless there's a cooldown, which wouldn't be surprising)

I want to play Tectonic Slam

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 02:39 AM PDT

As the title says, I want to play that skill again but I didnt play alot since they added the new warcries. What will be the best way to play it in Scourge ? I've looked at charges masteries and all but I didnt really read the previous patch notes so I don't really know what will scale better.

First time wanting to play toxic rain. Cons and pros Champion vs Raider variant?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 03:38 AM PDT

    Title.

Seems that toxic rain might be strong this league I am curious because I never played it myself.

Now I wonder which ascendancy to pick with it and I am looking for some help.

This league i wanted to focus on actually pushing 100% atlas and beeing able to do all bossess safely and quickly. Will probably focus on only one character.

    thanks in advance.

    Toxic rain champion recovery

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 03:21 AM PDT

Hey somehow I've never played TR in years of playing it. Champion version seems like it'll be great but I'm concerned about viable ways to get good recovery on the build. Chaos damage leech doesn't seem easily obtainable, you could theoretically run life gain on hit in the self cast 6 link if you were to focus on damage ballistas. Any good viable alternatives, I'm sure somethings going over my head.

Im trying to find an extremely fast clear skill for 3.16. My plan is to farm breach and legion with this character off of league start. Only ideas I currently have are Tr, Ed/c, and some kind of slinger, but I've played all of them. Anyone got any ideas on a zoom zoom mapper leaguestarter? Would prefer if im able to push into reds day2

What are the best ways to get lots of flat damage?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2021 10:25 PM PDT

I know replica alberons is a fantastic (the best?) way, but it's always Uber expensive and I have already played an alberons build.

Are there any other comparable ways? I know in the past that abyss jewels were great but they don't seem as attractive anymore.

    Necro Skeleton mage 3.16

    Posted: 18 Oct 2021 05:27 AM PDT

    Hello guys,

Looking to play skeleton mage as league start and was wondering can I take this build far with the EE/EO nerfs. Does it have potential?

Back in 3.14 i played phys skeletons with spectres and had invested over 80ex into my character and it was far from finished. Just looking into mage version now due to better clear and higher QOL perhaps.

Any ideas? Looking for potential POB's aswell if possible. Ive googled and checked youtube around but didnt find any new information.

    Thank you!
