Underrated starter builds for 3.17 Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:13 PM PST Which build are you playing that is completely under the radar? No TR, Mage Skele, EA, Poison Con, Helix, LS, Vortex, or Absolution to many people advertising these builds. Curious what underrated builds people are trying, [link] [comments]

[3.17] Gsheet build List regrouping with scores in each important criteria Posted: 02 Feb 2022 12:02 AM PST Hi everyone, Reading all builds from Reddit, Youtube, PoE Forum, etc, I got overwhelmed. I kept changing my mind every 5 minutes, and will surely do until the very last minute. To help me decide, I did a Gsheet with all builds I read from others, gave them score in each criteria which are important for me. As I believe it may help others, I will share that Gsheet, but first, please READ NOTES First of all, I am casu and noob in PoE, keep this in mind, it may have lots of mistakes, lots of misunderstandings but will try my best to fix anything wrong and will update it. I only regroup what I found on Youtube, Reddit, etc. I created nothing myself. I will try put references to others to give credit where it's owned, but I may forget or get it wrong, sorry and will update Higher score means this build is better at each point Clear is counting movement speed, no backtracking, no delay between pack. Basically how fast we finish a map and looting Boss is counting tankiness and damage Same class build is to have idea of how many other builds are using the same class for potential respec Leveling is counting mix of going fast and using skill early on Score Column is to get an average score, it does not mean higher is better, just overall can do all content, not useful for people who can afford to get more specialized builds Used 317_siege_of_the_atlas_build_index to help me a lot You can comment here or there Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10pbvwyLmmG-XQOduDjn_1OlhVXsIc4PQrdahgHu5OkE/edit?usp=sharing I hope this can help even 1 person [link] [comments]
Any good deadeye leaguestarters ? Posted: 02 Feb 2022 04:12 AM PST Disclaimer: i only need to get through the campaign as fast and smooth as possible, i plan to reroll to my build as soon as i can, however i cant truly start with it due to it being a self caster deadeye and you cant get spell stuff as a ranger early and tree sucks till like lvl 80 or so. To (amateur) poison coc PF peeps, which build guide are yall using! Posted: 01 Feb 2022 09:51 PM PST I find both Esoro's and Asmodeus' guides good in their own right (esoro for detail and general popularity / asmo for good POB transitioning and a levelling vid). Do share your thoughts! :) [link] [comments]

Are there any viable spark builds for league start? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 05:18 PM PST Probably wont be farming 50 ex week 1, but in the first month or so its not out of the question, just need something reasonably tanky that can clear up to alch n go T16s and isnt absolute dogshit at bossing. Eventually I'd love to save up and make it into an aura stacker, havn't played one since delerium and I'm hoping its still viable. [link] [comments]
Putting some things into perspective about leaguestart builds and scenarios for trade leagues Posted: 02 Feb 2022 04:47 AM PST So like every start, there's people who are undecisive on what to start and what to do, how to approach the build and which looks better for you in a context of a TRADE LEAGUE So i'm going to talk about how you choose what you need for yourself, but it's going to require something of you, which is BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF 1)How much time do you have to play 2)Are you doing multiple builds, if so do you have time to play each one properly 3)When do you drop a build? 4)How fast do you usually reach maps, how fast do you then progress to red tiers, guardians and invitations 5)Can you and have you ever even killed, let alone farmed endgame bosses with your starter build? 6)Do you know how to accumulate a modicum of currency in a trade league, doesn't have to be much, like honest 2ex per hour or more So why these things matter are following scenarios: 1)You pick a bossing build with weak clear with intention of doing endgame bosses, but you either lack time, skill or commitment to a build to even kill everythign once for completion bonuses, you're now stuck with a build that's bad for 99% of the content you have been doing 2)You have time to commit to 1-2 builds a league, you pick a very strong league starter which you don't like the playstyle of and can't respec easily because it's a limited class, so you're stuck playing a build you don't like and can't easily get out of for a significant portion of your league experience 3)You have fuck ton of time and play many builds, but instead of choosing a leaguestarter you try to go for your prefered build right away and suffer for days, maybe weeks 4)You know how to get like 20 exalts by day 3-4 or so but you limit yourself to a SSFHC performer that hits a wall even at like 5 ex Pick a build that suits you and only you If you know how to make money, pick a starter that's scalable, examples are Crit Seismic trap, Spectral Helix elemental, Toxic Rain, Poisonus Concoction If you have limited time but you still want to play full league, pick a starter that's respeccable into something you find fun, 2 versatile classes with fun endgame builds are usually Ranger and Witch, try to avoid Shadows and Templars(you might like something else, i'm here asuming you're a weirdo like me and only like elemental attacks and coc for juiced builds) If you're slow and in general not a good player, don't feel pressured to start a bosser, by the time you can hit bosses and kill them, it might be already week 2 and all the uniques are already dirt cheap, there's plenty of sub 5 chaos decent gear on the market and you can pick almost any build you like and either respec to that or just reroll Realize that a leaguestarter is non investment build, like you don't want to put much money into it, i am someone who earns mirrors every league, but even i stop investing into true leaguestarter around 10-15 ex mark, at that point i'm looking for a respec or just farming for the next build, most people are better off putting barely anything as soon as you can achieve your goal with a leaguestarter Leaguestarters are janky builds nobody really wants to play, and unless you really really like yours, use it as an utility tool and dump it, if you can kill Maven with 5 mill dps, don't push for 10, if you picked a mapping leaguestarter and struggle in t16 fuck them, drop down to t13-14, if you can't do a certain boss because you're particularly bad at the mechanics and feel like more damage would help, farm another boss, way cheaper than overinvesting into a build you don't like Most important is to know which content you like to do, are gonna do the most off and how fast can you get to it, and it's very important not to lie to yourself Now i'm not an all known POE authority but i have played a ton of builds in the past and i've played nearly all t1 builds that existed so far, some of you know me from my end of the league giveaways i do, i'll try to go over some popular leaguestarters and try to put them into perspective for you so you can see which would appeal more to you Do note, that to average POE speed meta enjoyer, pretty much every single build here is janky and weird to play compared to like Wander, Bow, COC, RF, BV or some other popular playstyles so i'm gonna treat them all as baseline awkward to play and note the ones that are extra odd either due to need to be mechanically good with timings and pressing a lot of buttons or just the skill itself being awkward which can result in negative feedback to the player in terms of enjoyment 1) EA Ballista Elementalist - extra weird to play, totem playstyle made even more awkward, 70% of the action happens behind you, very scalable, the epithome of a true leaguestart build for a trade league, ditch it as soon as you accomplish your goals if you don't like it, bonus witch class very respeccable, currently the most popular class of the game 2)Seismic trap Saboteur - ok playstyle, maybe even good for people who like traps, hit based so immediate feedback on killing mobs, very very scalable, slower mapper due to movement speed capping out fast, Shadow class not very promising in terms of endgame juicy build, very very limited respec potential, another epitome of a true leaguestarter for people with time to reroll 3)Spectral Helix Deadeye - Helix very janky playstyle, can sometimes outright miss what you're trying to hit and at other times instakill a t16 boss with self found gear, very bad playing feedback, extreme scaling potential, like dozens of millions of dps due to beign a crit projectile attack, best archetype in the game for scaling, can respec into myriad of attack builds almost point for point, Ranger class a good ascendancy for a lot of endgame builds, good pick for people with commitment to the league, but lack of time overall like myself(i play 1-3h a day but play 2+ months so rerolling a new character is like 2 maybe even 3 days of playtime for me) 4)Poisonous Concoction and most other Poison builds and Toxic Rain because it scales and plays almost same - good playstle overall but poison archetype requires some patience on bosses, a lot of ramp up time, hits a hard wall in early red maps and first guardians/invitations but there's nothing currency cannot solve, good for people who want to commit to your leaguestarter because they don't play enough to benefit from respeccing or rerolling a new character or just don't like to and want to play every build start to finish, this is what i like to call a commitment build, if you don't wanna commit don't even start 5)Cold Dot wintertide/vortex - very enjoyable playstyle overall out of all starter builds however hits a hard wall on endgame bosses and takes massive currency to solve, either use for a mapper starter and drop or FULL COMMIT, no inbetween on this one, bonus point witch class easily respeccable, a starter of choice for most COC enjoyers out there 6)Anything champion - this is mostly HC stuff, avoid if on SC trade, Duelist sucks ass for anything but very few fun endgame builds so unless you really like one of those like CF Tornado shot for example, stay away, there's no duelist starter that can do something above starters cannot, overall a definition of bait for SC trade leagues 7)Anything gladiator, popular choice is CF KB spellsligner/poets pen - the epithome of true mapper starter, movespeed and explosions, best for people who need inexpensive but unobtainable uniques on day 1-3(endgame boss drops or unpopular t1-2 uniques) for their true builds, play like SSF for few days for quick atlas completion and ditch, best possible SSF mapper 8)Inquisitor RF - a hard commitment build, very enjoyable playstyle, scalable to a degree but takes MASSIVE currency, only for people with lots of playtime and economy knowledge or someone who drops a build fast and doesn't care about many endgame things [link] [comments]
SSF SC players, what are you league starting in 3.17? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 09:18 AM PST I usually see a dedicated "what are you league starting in SSF" thread on this sub around this time and didn't see one, so I thought I would make one. This will be my third league in SSF. Last league it took me a few builds to settle on one I was happy with, whereas in 3.15 I started SST Glad and rolled, so I know the importance in SSF of picking a good starter that meshes with what you enjoy. Personally, I'm considering Poisonous Concoction, probably on a PF, as I didn't play it last league, or potentially some kind of elemental crit trapper (ice, or lightning + lightning spire) or maybe bleed bow, but the boss dps on that makes me a little squeamish. What are your plans? [link] [comments]
Is it better to league start a map clearer or a boss killer? Posted: 01 Feb 2022 09:46 PM PST I am between two builds, one happens to be good bosser but clunky mapper, while the other is a super quick mapper with only "passable" single target. I have always been under the impression that a map clearer is better, because a quick tanky mapper has a clear path to improve single target (in most cases). Whereas a bosskiller usually can't improve mapping due to the nature of the skill (spectral helix/trappers), besides some movement/action speed. That being said I see a lot of merit in dealing with the slower mapping in exchange for being able to push bosses and endgame with less upgrades needed. But I can see pros and cons to both. Is it ever a thing to make both? I was thinking about it, but I'm used to playing ssf, where multiple builds is like what you do just because of the nature of the mode. But on trade I feel it'd be really hard to decide which one to put currency towards and I'd feel like I'm spreading myself thin. So, would you try to stick to one (if so, which one?) or would you try to make both work? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Feb 2022 05:08 AM PST Been looking around for good builds for SSF and I came across this one https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/ssf-builds-for-path-of-exile and wondering the validity of builds on this website or if I'm just wasting my time. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Feb 2022 01:14 AM PST Seen a few variants of the skeleton mage build and wondering what is the best/smoothest for a new player? There seems to be Odif, Kay, Von Vikton, Big Ducks, Ghazzy and so on. Not sure how much these all differ? Who is the go-to for skeleton mages? Looking for a guide that hand holds a bit, so was leaning towards Odif or Vikton? [link] [comments]
Explosive arrow mines league starter - saboteur build Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:00 PM PST Hello all, with the new buffs to EA and everyone wanting to league start with it, I thought about going the EA mine route, mostly because I don't like totems and like the miner playstyle more. Also, I thought about going regular EA but felt that perhaps mines would have better single target damage, and I wouldn't need two 6 links to make it work either. The EA mine build doesn't seem to be very popular (could only find one or two people playing it on poe.ninja) but I came up with a POB based largely on the EA ballista build from palsetron with the totem nodes switched out for mine ones. Any and all help/suggestions are very appreciated! Disclaimer - POB is just the tree and nothing else. Was also thinking about just going elementalist EA mines instead of sab as well. Posted: 02 Feb 2022 04:13 AM PST Ive only started playing since Ultimatum and fell in love with the HoT autobombers of the time. Sincr then, I played a similar build for Expedition and made a decently tanky Fire Burst bomber for Scourge which was capable of running A8 Sirus. With the major nerf to its cooldown, is a build surrouding Fire Burst + Arma Brand ignites a fluke? I was planning on using this build on an Elementalist for casual mapping before the balance manifesto, but now Im not sure what to league start as. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:42 PM PST These builds seem very similar in concept but each person says the build hinges on two different sets of uniques and I'm just trying understand the differences.
Is it just that Navandis uses the Cyclone-CwC-Desecrate to spawn the units whereas Tripolar uses the Steel skills and impales? What's the big difference? Can one transition into the other? (Impales for early/mapping, Cyclone for bossing?) [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:59 PM PST So, I will most likely being playing the game solo, but looking for the best Build for a tanky character but still be able to solo as much as possible. Started with a duelist, but trying to figure out if i should go more in the shield category or maybe life leech to be able to stay alive? Would love some feedback on what you guys think is the best melee character to play who can tank very well but also put out as much damage as possible. [link] [comments]
[CONSOLE] What build are you playing in 3.17? Posted: 02 Feb 2022 02:23 AM PST Hey fellow console players! What builds do you plan to start 3.17 league with? I played TR Champ last league and really enjoyed it, but it got a little nerf this patch, and I'm not really keen on playing same build two leagues in a row. Share your ideas, maybe you will inspire someone! [link] [comments]
Here we are - flameblast build anyone? Posted: 02 Feb 2022 01:35 AM PST It is that time of a year when I want to play shitty ass build that i know won't be competitive (probably even be good at all) but nothing you will say can discourage me :P Do you have some ideas how to play SELFCAST (non ignite) flameblast in 2022? I am experienced SSF player who does like to copy build not make ones. I fully expect to heavily invest into cast speed, do i want to go crit (maybe with help of brittle?) as EO won't synergise well. Elementalist for some generic damage or inquis for regen/crit/instruments of virtue? (is it such a pain in the ass as subreddit made it to look like?) I was even thinking of raider for cast speed but it seems like it's crazy more than i'd like. What about defenses on mages? determination + clunkily-acquired spell supression? Divine shield seems to do shit.. ES stacking probably not. Anyone thinking of playin something similar and have i PoB? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Feb 2022 05:17 AM PST Greetings, I've pretty much zeroed my 3.17 starting build as Damage over Time Occultist. But for the life of me I cannot decide whether to go say ShakCentral's Wintertide Brand Occultist or Subtractem's Bane Occultist. I've played a lot of Chaos DoT builds but I've had trouble scaling them in the past (I'm going to follow a proper guide this time). I tried a Cold DoT Occultist in 3.16 which was okay but I burned out in the league before really getting a good feel for the build. Plus it was pretty much a mix and match build, rather than following a proper build. I really like Bane as a skill and I've played Stormbrand Hierophant in the past, so I'm also familiar with brand skills as well. Is there really that much of a difference between the builds (besides the obvious difference in skill) in terms of scaling damage, defence or bossing? I'm under the impression that both are very solid builds. To my understanding cold skill provide a bit better defensive layer due to chilling/freezing enemies but other than that I really can't say. I'm not good a farming currency so is either build obviously more expensive? Any suggestions and advices will be very much appreciated. [link] [comments]
Suggest a few good builds for late-game that requires heavy investment Posted: 02 Feb 2022 05:09 AM PST I want to play a single build that may get very strong in the late games. I am a returning player so there is a lot of mechanics and gems that I don't understand now. can you guys suggest to me some build that will be overpowered? [link] [comments] |
