- Arc seems fine to me
- Reminder: Delve is fine now, but the starting 2 weeks of the Delve league were equally problematic to Synthesis

- Synthesis Lore is amazing
- Why do we still not have proper 2FA?
- The buff Fortification needed
- Me after spending about 3500 fusings w/o 6linking
- PSA:Clicking memory stabiliser in reward nodes fucks your run, just get loot/modifiers and kamikaze into the alzheimer to return to the start.
- Let us run the league mechanics we want to focus on. Master missions should always be on the atlas, with no respawn delay, allowing us to focus on the content we want to play.
- +5 level to curse gems Chalice of Horror
- PSA: Loot from a decaying memory now doesn't transport to the memory stabilizer you activate if it was swallowed up in the blue zone before you activated it, making it inaccessible.
- The following change is literary a mean trap: "Collapsing a placed Memory now sets your checkpoint to the Memory Stabiliser used to collapse the Memory."
- PSA: the memory stabilizers next to reward nodes are now chain-ending deathtraps

Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:39 AM PDT Let me start by saying, I really enjoy all of the content in the game, yes even Betrayal. I am one of the priveledged few who doesn't get massive framerate issues from them. However, I am becoming increasingly frustrated with having no choice in what I get to do. I am constantly oblidged to stop mapping to temple/delve/syndicate/synthesis mechanic and yet I can do none of those things with focus because they all rely random spawning of "insert resource here". Even mapping seem to require engagement with the other mechanics due to a massively nerfed drop rate. In order to sustain higher maps Delving and Map room temples seem required. I've got a full time job and I do not have the time to play all day. When I do get to play for an hour or three I'd really like to have some control over which part of the game I'm focusing on. Whichever one that is I wouldn't be that fussed about but unfortunately the current design is forcing my attention and time to be divided everywhere at once reducing progress in all aspects to a crawl. It feels unsatisfying and frankly a little bit like having some kind of attention disorder. A number of solutions have been proposed to this by everyone from random reddit posters to well known streamers, but GGG has given us no response to indicate they have even heard this particular piece of feedback. Its barely a week into the league and I'm already fed up with it and looking to do other things with my time. Between the very poorly rewarding synthesis mechanic (despite it being very fun and mentally engaging), buggy betrayal encounters, delve relying on true randomness of Niko spawns over a billion maps, etc etc, there are too many interuptions to flow right now and its killed the league for me. I look forward to GGG adressing this design issue, even if it only to clarify they will be progressing with it. In the meantime I will be waiting on the 2 week patch to see how Synthesis issues are addressed. [link] [comments] | ||
[Shower Thought] Do we need another Legacy league? Posted: 15 Mar 2019 09:25 AM PDT I appreciate all the content additions to the main game, BUT it felt kind of clunky when it was introduced in 3.5. Combined with the rather mixed perception of Betrayal (I think the crafting mods are cool, but the way of obtaining them is .... not spectacular IMO) it still feels somewhat like an afterthought to me (i.e. the amount of time it takes to get to Catarina). The new league has some cool mechanics - I actually enjoyed setting up a cluster of tiles with insane modifiers, until I ran them and got nothing that is - but the required amount of time invested seems out of proportion. ANYWAY, referring back to the title I would really like to see a "skipped" league, like having another Legacy league for GGG to iron out all the kinks and bugs. The game is in some weird sort of unpolished state (this might just be my perception though) and I would really like to see it get back to old heights. I adore this game but currently I feel a tad bit disappointed. Is this just a personal thing or do other people (partially) agree? [link] [comments] | ||

It took me 10 hours farming Syndicate to get 1 Catarina (The math behind why Syndicate in 3.6 sucks) Posted: 14 Mar 2019 11:23 PM PDT TL;DR - If you want to craft flask mods, expect to run 12,000 maps.(For reference: SlipperyJim & crew farmed 6 Headhunters in 10,000 Burial Chambers) I focus-farmed Syndicate to get Catarina. Took me roughly 10 hours. I thought it would be worth, because I wanted a Cinderswallow flask for the crafted mods, and nobody is selling them. I got extremely lucky and dropped it first try. **Spoiler Alert**: Unveiling the flask only gets you 1/3 of the way to unlocking the crafted mod With a 1:4 chance of dropping Cinderswallow and 6 possible flask mods, it would take at least 24 runs to secure a single crafted flask mod. So if you want to get flask crafts, you'd better be ready to farm Syndicate this whole league instead of running other content. Here's the math behind the time it takes to grind out a Catarina encounter:
------------------------ TL;DR: Expect to run ~510 maps per Catarina encounter So, assuming good luck and fastest possible progress--without spending any effort to make good safehouse encounters--you need 51 maps with Syndicate encounters, which means running ~510 maps, 9 safehouses, and 1 mastermind. So if you have a lightning fast build (I have +300%MS) and spend just 30 seconds checking each map for syndicate encounters before abandoning non-syndicate maps, 5 minutes to clear Syndicate maps, and 5 minutes to clear + loot safehouses, this is how long it takes to get to Catarina:
------------------------------------------------ Minimum 9 hours of grinding per Catarina Multiply that by 24 if you want to farm up a flask mod (216 hours). [link] [comments] | ||
Possible bug with the new league mechanic which is affecting mapdrops! Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:42 AM PDT I've ran a mixed variety of t11-t12's (500 total) and tested whether or not something with the memory league mechanic affects mapdrops and I've come to a surprising conclusion: So, what did I test? I ran all 500 maps chiseled and alched, didnt use sextants/zana mods for the least amount of variance but I couldnt afford to run them white for obvious reasons. 250 of the maps were ran normally with an average of 85 quantity and 25 pack size and I got 186 t11-t12's back. In the second set of 250 maps I immediately rushed for the memories, completed them, and afterwards proceeded to clear the map normally. With this strategy, I've found an astonishing 283 maps, which is a significant difference to the previous method and should be out of the likely* RNG variance. This would explain why so many people are struggling to sustain their maps. It seems to be a similar bug compared to the nets blocking alch drops way back in Bestiary. You definitely still drop maps even before completing the memories, but their droprate is greatly reduced. Hope this gets looked into and I strongly recommend everyone to rush for memories first and afterwards clear the map normally to finally sustain their maps. Have a nice day! [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 15 Mar 2019 10:12 AM PDT Hey, So I figured after all the posts criticizing synthesis league for how bugged and bad it is at league start, that it'd be good to remind people how delve launch went. While I understand that people expect a finished product, I also would like to emphasize on how much content GGG is pushing over time. In my opinion if you want to avoid getting frustrated because you can't wait for the much needed fixes for 2 weeks, you should consider playing standard league. Or just join 2 weeks late. I am used to basically beta testing the leagues as they come out. It's probably unavoidable. Maybe if there was a shorter "reminder" league with no new content to make up for the 2 weeks that seem always were missing, or some closed beta tests of the league before starting, temp leagues would be in a better spot. It's not exactly how development works though, so I am not so sure about that. Anyway - to the delve league start, and how it went:
If anyone remembers something else I skipped - feel free to add it into the comments. Of course Delve was also balanced later after being integrated into the game. It also got a rebalance of fossil occurrence with 3.6.0, so it is still being worked on. And now it finally feels good, and finally accomplished the goal of pushing players into higher depths. So now, everyone is praising Delve league as the best one with the best model, but it had as bad of a league start like every league. It's obvious that Synthesis needs some work. Let GGG do it. Or if you're impatient... Go play other games, or perhaps standard. You're not obligated to play PoE. Or try joining a league 2 weeks after it starts. Or come back in 1 week from now. Most of the annoyances will be gone by that time. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 14 Mar 2019 11:24 PM PDT Okay, so here is what i did. I have 136 % map completion. I just have run today 100 Shaped Lair T11 maps. My investment was: 4 chisel, alch, vaal, 4 sextances, Quantity prophecy on every map, except when strongbox sextant was up, then i used Bountiful Traps. I rerolled any map with less than 21% packsize and bad mods for me. I splitted maps to 3 categories: Unid maps to run with unid sextant, 8mod maps to run with best sextances like strongboxes, combined with ambush zana mod and bountiful traps, and normal rolled maps. I started with 30 Shaped lair maps, ended up with 20. Had 90% sustain on t11, with investment that basically guaranteed t16 sustain in previous leagues In any past league, with such investment on t11, everyone would just swim in t11 maps, now i actually didn't sustain. Those 100 maps i was actually running with randoms from global820 as leechers. And since i have 65% quantity + bisco, i managed to earn 30 ex today, so i could finish buying Headhunter. I could link my profile to anyone who doesn't believe me, i just mention it to show that with such huge profits from running a map, i still can't sustain the map itself. There were times, when i actually got more Rigwald cards then map drops. Is it only me who has the feeling that map sustain sucks balls this league? Edit: Havoc twitter post about map sustain: https://twitter.com/HvC616/status/1106433686617157633 Also Cutedog retwitted it, he also said on stream he was never so poor at this point of the league. Posted: 15 Mar 2019 01:58 AM PDT So, people usually focus a lot on the rewards, the crafting and all this kind of stuff, which is fine, nothing wrong with that, but I'd like to focus on this aspect, a very underappreciated one. I ignored Cavas a bit early in the first days, and now, following the lore and paying attention in all that he says, I feel the need to say: It is very well done. I wont do any spoilers about it, but at the time that he recovers his memory back, I felt very curious about the story, genuinely wanting to know more about everything. That said, I think POE has a very good lore and characters, I'd like to recommend you to pay attention to the game lore, especially if you're a new player. Very entertaining indeed [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 15 Mar 2019 04:41 AM PDT I've played multiple decaying memories and every time I've dropped currency and fractured items, they didn't show up at the memory stabilizer I activated. Having it transported to the starting point stabilizer makes it inaccessible 90% of the time, and makes running through decaying memories pointless. PSA: If you want your decaying memory loot - activate the endpoint stabilizer before killing anything, or never plan to run 'through' a decaying memory. Activating a stabilizer other than the one at the beginning is a trap that will void most of your loot. In other words - you cannot chain through a decaying memory, without losing your loot and fractured items from that memory, that got swallowed up in dementia before you clicked the end stabilizer. How to fix this easily: Loot swallowed up in the blue zone should be 'held' till the player stabilizes the memory and then drop. If the player fails to reach another stabilizer, they can reactivate the stabilizer in the beginning to drop their loot. Same tech you used for Incursion, GGG. Don't transport the loot in real time to the player's 'current checkpoint'. Alternatively, let the player teleport to other stabilizers they have activated within the memory, before leaving. This will make chaining more accessible for skilled players. GGG, this is a major design flaw or bug. Making people work hard to stack modifiers for decaying memories and then intentionally making their loot drop in an inaccessible area is so frustrating that it makes me want to not play this league. Come on. Edit: Tried to replicate the glitch but this time I got the loot - or most of it, it seems. It seems there's a glitch that sometimes dumps your loot somewhere inaccessible when moving through a decaying memory. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 14 Mar 2019 05:36 PM PDT I've just tried out the new patch and this change is beyond silly. In any node with a lootspot with a stabiliser in the middle of the map (such as Memory Modifiers, Loot etc), if you click the stabiliser - you're trapped. You can't get back to the area before. You can only relog or teleport out. This can end long runs very easily. Even worse, it's very easy to missclick this, when dashing away and trying not to get flushed, there's no confirmation and it's incredibly infuriating. I'm actually enjoying synthesis, despite it's several flaws, but this is a horrible and unwarranted (likely unintended too) nerf to an already not-that-profitable system full of randomness and potential pitfalls. PS: I think the correct way to handle it would be - allowing to teleport between the "goal" and the start stabilizer, once you've reached the goal... PS2: Alternatively add a "Do you really want to stabilize here" option or force us to click 3 times, like essences. However, the current setup is beyond terrible. [link] [comments] | ||
PSA: the memory stabilizers next to reward nodes are now chain-ending deathtraps Posted: 14 Mar 2019 06:35 PM PDT Used to be that you would run to the reward nodes/chest/modifier etc then hit the stabilizer to gather up the loot, then jump into the blue to teleport back to entrance. Do not do this. NEVER touch the stabilizer near chests now as they will 100% end your run and make you unable to backtrack. I found this out the hard way, since the patch notes said it only applied to "placed" memories which seemed to mean "memories that you placed". That is not the case as it does indeed apply to memories you did not place. Now I am stuck in a distant memory next to 4 other ones, about 9 memories deep in a chain. I am not amused.
