Appreciation post: Currency bots are the real MVPs Posted: 17 Mar 2019 08:25 AM PDT Currency trading is a terrible experience, but those bots that are always there for you really bring the whole economy together. Shoutout to them. I don't care if you guys are really propping up the 1% and those RMT sites, without you I probably couldn't play the game. [link] [comments]

I'm 10+ levels ahead of all the content and it's not fun Posted: 17 Mar 2019 10:11 AM PDT I'm at low depth in delve but can't sustain sulphite. I can't sustain maps so I'm stuck doing lower tier. Sythesis is all low tier since my maps are low tier. Einhar is cool tho I like bestiary [link] [comments]

A mediocre's player (humble) opinion on Synthesis, game mechanics and future of the game Posted: 17 Mar 2019 07:44 AM PDT Hi, I am a mediocre PoE player, and I have something to say about Synthesis league and others. Before I say that, I'd like to introduce my PoE achievements. I've played only around 350 hours or so. Started from Incursion league (which I dropped because I couldn't understand how to survive in incursions), I've got to my first 90s levels and T14-15 maps in Delve (which I really liked). I've never killed Shaper. I've yet to kill the first Uber Elder. I've met the Mastermind twice in Betrayal, without succeeding to kill. I've farmed Humility only in Synthesis - but I've got a number of Tabulas from regular drops. The maximum number of Exalted orbs I had is 6. Now I'd like to talk about how I've got into PoE in the first place. I was not looking for a "better diablo" (I was pretty happy with diablo 3 at the time), I wasn't amazed by a giant passive skill tree ("jesus, how can you even understand what's going on in there?!" were exactly my thoughts). I didn't know anything about leagues system, or crafting, or mapping. What really got my attention (after watching whyme758's videos on youtube) is how everything in the game integrated with everything else. I'd even say deeply integrated. To me, it starts with absence of money - a separate resource dropping from mobs and chests that you have to pick up because things cost money. You also have to pick up gear - because that's what drives you to the end game. But apparently in PoE we don't need money - because we have currencies, and we can obtain currencies from gear! I was thinking, oh my, you can do that?! It's so simple and understandable, why I haven't seen anything like that before? Then I have learned that you can use the same currency you used to buy things from vendors for changing things you already have. Boom! Mind blown! You could do that?! Oh, this was probably THE reason I dropped diablo 3 and switched to playing PoE all the time - because I don't need to grind the same levels, same mobs, same bosses again and again just to get a better rolled drop. I can make my own better rolled drop! Once I was in the game, I've started to see other deeply integrated things. Apparently, you can use currency to make strongboxes more challenging in favor of getting better rewards - awesome! You use currency to make maps better as well! Even with essences, you use one to create a better gear, but you can also use the Remnant of Corruption to alternate the frozen mobs! So I started to see the pattern: there are basic building blocks:
The rest of the game became very, very clear and obvious. That's how I see the deep integration. Everything is so simple, yet complex when you try to min/max things. But once I realized these building blocks, I've started to play better because my cognitive overload dropped significantly. Hell, I didn't even know that strongboxes and essences were separate leagues - they're so deeply integrated with the game that I was actually surprised when I read about that. Unfortunately, both basic building blocks as I see them, in my humble opinion, do not apply to all leagues starting from Incursion. Let me explain:
Before you leave an angry comment about that not everything should follow the basic rules - yes, I'm not asking to! I think it's perfectly fine to have one thing that stands apart from the core mechanics. It does not increase the cognitive load much, and it's fun - delve was really fun to lots of players, as I can judge from reddit comments. But GGG decided to put all these separate things into the game. Simultaneously. My mind is blown again - but not because of how awesomely integrated the game is, but because I have to constantly jump between synthesis calculator, betrayal members and their rewards, delve crafting calc, incursion cheat sheet, just to get anything good from these activities. It became much simpler to just ignore these activities completely because you could rather spend your time mapping, rolling higher mods, killing elder/shaper and be done with that. This is what was fun before these leagues, and it will probably be still fun in 5.0. Sorry for a long wall of text - I'm closing it. I loved Delve, I didn't hate Betrayal, and I certainly don't hate Synthesis. But it would be much more fun to me if all these mechanics were integrated with each other using the fundamentals of the game. That's pretty much all I ask. Thank you for reading. Can't wait for your opinion in comments. [link] [comments]

One new Watcher's Eye mod wasn't added into the game Posted: 17 Mar 2019 08:46 AM PDT Looking through the new Watcher's Eye mods on poedb at the beginning of Synthesis, I got pretty excited by the possible Malevolence combos and especially the "(20–30)% increased Skill Effect Duration while affected by Malevolence" mod. However, after looking through the trade websites and noticing it doesn't appear anywhere (except on poe.trade, but it doesn't actually work), I went to do some investigation. About 10 times now, I've classified all Watcher's Eye for sale in Synthesis and Synthesis HC from most recent to oldest, to get as random of a sample as possible, and searched for Malevolence mods. Conclusion: after going through hundreds of Watcher's with at leat one Malevolence mod on them, I've seen every single one of them many times, except the one mentioned above. Overall, this leads me to believe the mod hasn't been implemented in the game. Source for the Watcher's Eye mods: https://poedb.tw/us/unique.php?n=Watchers_Eye [link] [comments]
