| Posted: 02 Apr 2019 03:40 AM PDT Hey all, I have 2 Hyaon's fury sitting around right now, saw the increased lightning damage per frenzy charge and thought I'd take a crack at trying to actually build a character with it. Very new to the game, but from reading a lot on the subreddit I figured it's best to try to scale weapon elemental damage as well as crit for better shock scaling. Questions: What items should I go for? Double Hyaon's is a must at the moment, but if there's something out there that is 200x better and also super cheap/easy to get I'll try finding one. Also I'll probably stick to tabula that I've been using all League unless I find something nutty like inpulsa. Skill links? I Saw static strike and figured it would be great to just stack up charges, then run/leap slam through packs to blow things up. Are there faster clearing options? Passive tree? Shadow, Witch and Ranger all sound most appealing to me. I haven't played any games quite like PoE, but I have a lot of RPGs and currently play Final Fantasy XIV, but I don't know what to expect from the class progression. I typically like spellblades, or classes that are quick and aggressive such as a melee class with dots, or a highly mobile caster. I also enjoy supportive classes, such as healer/buffers. | Question about how elemental focus interacts with herald of ash on my HFT build Posted: 01 Apr 2019 05:35 PM PDT In this build I'm running a 6 link holy flame totem right now.... HFT, Multi Totems, Added Fire Damage, CD, Infused Channeling, and Elemental Focus. (With Herald of Ash and Zealotry Active) Herald of ash says enemies surrounding an enemy I kill take overkill burn damage. My question is since Elemental Focus Prevents HFT from inflicting burn damage do I not get the full benefit of HoA in terms of overkill burn damage spreading? Should I switch Elemental Focus out for Faster Casting or switch HoA out for a different Aura? Also any endgame passives I might consider pushing for? [link] [comments]  | ||

It's basically a high defense trickster, with good clear and bossing, made mostly for HC but should be fast enough for SC, at least for clearing. | Posted: 01 Apr 2019 12:57 PM PDT Hi there fellow exiles, im back hoping for the more knowledgeable ones to enlighten me (cause i sure as heck cant seem to do it). I made a TS deadeye as my second char to level up with a friend (he is making a self-made weird HoAg mana guardian-ish... not sure how it will end) and im finding a few questions. From what i saw, a very common way to roll your character is with MF and farm some low-tier maps for profit. Since i had a few MF pieces around from my 1st char (gorldwryn, bisco leash, thief torment) i assembled them all together mostly and bought a windripper to try out the build. Results were pretty horrible. Things taking so long to die and completely impossible to kill bosses so i tried to move things around a bit like gear (was following Demi's guide initially). Apparently most of the scaling comes from abyss jewels, but im not sure if im doing that correctly and im still missing a few of them anyways. After all that, here comes the real questions... : 1) Am i doing this correctly and it just comes toguether at higher level, full jewel slots? If not, anything i could improve? 2) Is there any way to swap the MF gear and make the char able to kill bosses/high tier maps without rerolling the tree? | Switching to Shavrones Wrapping Chaos Resist requirement Posted: 01 Apr 2019 11:29 AM PDT Hello, Topic says everything I'm playing ED/Soulrend Occultist, Currently running CI, 6 link Vaal chest piece (~7100 ES), I'm thinking on switching to low life which would give me boost to dps, drop my ES to ~7000 and leave me with ~450hp after reserving. I would have 46% chaos resist, Is that enough or should I upgrade my rares, to have more Chaos resist? What should I aim for? I'm progressing through Maps now ~t11 now just because I'm slow, and I would like to go to end game content, also I might switch to Cerberus + shield for more ES after switching to Low Life. If there was another thread like this sorry, I've tried searching but could not find anything. TLDR: Is 46% chaos resists with 7k ES and 500hp enough to turn off CI? | 1 ex budget for a general purpose build Posted: 01 Apr 2019 10:04 AM PDT Hey, today I found my first ex and now I'm debating on what to do with it. Investing it into upgrading one of my starting chars or going for something different. The 2 chars I tried already: Winterorb elementalist (79): not really getting into the channeling playstyle and in general too squishy for my liking. nice for trash but don't like the boss dps Warchief Chieftain (82): nice to run all map mods, the warchief totems don't cover much area and I can't be bothered with the Enduring Cry spamming so I'm not as tanky as I could be What I want: - 1 skill for trash and boss kill combined (not a button smashing monster) - 1 movement skill - the rest should be automated with CWDT or Curse on Hit or whatever - I don't like the zoom/zoom playstyle (I rarely use more than my movement flask, sometimes shield charge on my Chieftain). So just a bit more basic movementspeed would be sufficient combined with a flask for example -I play on an old laptop and Winterorb is already sometimes laggy with the speed of Phaserun and the mass AoE, so nothing that is too flashy (would like a summoner but the laptop won't handle that) -NOT squishy, don't want to die and loose xp when my laptop is lagging or I reacted a ms too slow -would really like it if all map mods are playable. I'm not investing endless time into PoE. I come online, grab a map, put an alch on it and play it. Not interested in min/maxing all that crap. Casually playing up through the tier maps and maybe seeing Shaper/Elder or whatever. Some ideas that I had: -use the ex to upgrade my Chieftain with a 6L so I can use Increased AoE -some kind of Jugg as he generates Endurance charges automatically -maybe an Inquisitor caster (seems quite tanky from what I saw) -Scion Ascendant with Elementalist so I can run every map -anything else you guys recommend as I'm only like 2 weeks into this game and don't know a lot Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||

I have an ED hybrid char that is comfortable enough with shaper, but effectively a 5 link with no empower & DPS is a bit low for uber elder... too slow & too much degen on the ground. | Posted: 01 Apr 2019 09:03 AM PDT I just got PoE on PS4 and I'm not really sure what kind of build to do. In most RPGs I play a melee+magic mix (dragon age knight enchanter, hexblades in d&d, ESO dragon knights). I love having self buffs or being able to debuff and drain / dot my enemies. I don't need to have big flashy numbers, I appreciate being able to survive and outlast my enemies more. What would be a good build for my play style? Thanks for any feedback! [link] [comments]  | ||

Looking for a build that has or can do these: Extra points (not necessary but i'd like to have it): I can invest quite a lot of currency into the build, so no worries about expensive items.
