    r/pathofexile May 2019 rules updates

    Posted: 21 May 2019 12:28 AM PDT

    Hi all,

The following rules changes have been made and are now in effect. If you want to read our rationale behind the changes, please have a read of the feedback thread.

Rule 3. Do Not Troll, Flame, Spam, Threaten, Insult, Belittle, Harass, Attack, Impersonate, etc. Other People

Insults directed at GGG staff will now be removed. Posts directed GGG staff will be held to the same standard as posts talking to or about anyone else. See the end of the post for some examples of what this means.

Rule 6. Price Check and Crafting Questions Should Be Posted in the Question Sticky Thread

The price check/crafting sticky thread has been discontinued. Price checks now must be posted in the question thread. Crafting questions can be posted there as well, but will now also be allowed as separate threads.

Rule 7. Refrain from Posting Duplicate Threads about the Same Topic Within a Short Period of Time

Threads discussing related issues to an existing thread, or someone's own take on an issue covered by an existing thread, are now allowed. Only threads that more or less exactly duplicate existing threads (for example, links to the same announcement or video) will now be removed.

Rule 9. Do Not Solicit GGG's Attention & Feature Suggestion Guidelines

This rule has been removed. Thread titles directed at GGG and pinging GGG staff are now allowed.

    Rule 3 clarification and examples.

Based on the feedback we've received and our own concerns, we want to make it very clear that we do not want to censor criticism of GGG with this rule change. Criticism of the game and general negative attitudes towards it (or any part of it) are still allowed under all circumstances. Constructive criticism of GGG's strategies or capabilities is still allowed. All we are now policing are actual insults directed at GGG members. Some examples are set out below for clarity. Please ask if you have any more questions about this change (or any of the others).

    "Synthesis is shit" — fine.

"Betrayal lag makes the game unplayable, it's ridiculous that it hasn't been fixed yet. Get your act together GGG!" — fine.

Any content of the sort displayed in this comment — fine.

"GGG are morons, can't even manage a simple fix" — would be removed.

"1K hour QA team lul" — would be removed.

"Trading is easy to fix, just make an auction house for currency and maps. Solves the shitty feeling of trying to buy in bulk but doesn't make trading for gear too easy. But stupid Chris and his idiotic ideas about player interaction mean it will never happen." — Would be removed, but we'd suggest the poster repost without the last sentence. We want to try and avoid hiding legitimate criticism that also contains some insults, but we cannot edit comments or only remove parts of them.

These changes have been delayed past when we were hoping to implement them. We will not be stickying the 3.7 compiled info thread for a week or so to make sure people see this thread.

Probably will be unpopular, but here goes:

Synthesis (and Betrayal before it) received quite some backlash. Problems with launch, balance, encouter rate, etc. All this has been discussed at great (great) length on the subreddit.

With the supporter packs coming out tomorrow, just a reminder that this is your moment to let your voice really be heard. While the contents of the packs will no doubt be amazing, remember that it is GGG's equivalent of a subscription or purchasing an expansion pack, and no one wants to pay for a lesser product. Furthermore, since they are released before the league launches, it might even be compared to a pre-order (and one should never pre-order videogames).

So when the new packs launch, maybe wait until after you have played the League to see if GGG deserves your money or not. I trust (or maybe hope) GGG has had a decent wake-up call after Synthesis, and the next league will be much improved, but time will tell.

EDIT: maybe to clarify, since not everyone is on the same page: I am not calling for a boycot or hating on the game/GGG. I am saying you should exercise your right as a consumer. If you like the game and/or the league, then please, by all means, buy a pack (or two!). What I want from people is do to so after GGG has delivered a good product, not before.

I've lost many a good guild mate over these races, its a tough long season and you have to maintain fitness or you will end up regretting it. One time I didn't do my classic downward dog yoga warmup with DR fingers hand routine and thats all it took, I misclicked the quick silver and hit the mana pot. I was slow, too slow, the top racers were running faster and I NEVER COULD RECOVER.

My season was DONE, i was dejected. I pushed all night but I COULDN'T catch them, my loot filter wasn't prepped and I was seeing to much shit, I was hampered, slow. My hands were cramping and man oh man I was dehydrated.

I was begining to see stars, then the light came and I was dead. I'm writing this as a poltergeist, listen to me, don't make the mistakes I make.

This is serious fucking business, this is esports, it's a game of inches. Remeber to stay fit!!!!!!!!
