    Release: PoE Addon Launcher 2 - v1.11 - Start Legion Up To Date!

    Hey guys, Rizlim here, it's been some time, but I finally got around to making some more substantial upgrades to PoE Addon Launcher, more known as PAL2 just in time for Legion!

    Right now I've ran out of major new features for PAL2 so the project will take the back burner, while I go about and update my other program POE-Level-Buddy, it's in dire need of some love.

    New Changes:

    • Better custom AHK support
    • Better support for any addon not in the repositories
    • Filters from the filterblast API
    • Better readability
    • Stability changes
    • Added more addons to the repository
    • Lots and lots of bug fixes.

    Old Changes:

    • No more java runtime needed!
    • Added a server that checks for addon updates instead of the user
    • Cleaner UI (Settings is now integrated, and using white instead of blue)
    • Better performance (?)
    • No more separate launcher and client, everything is one executable now.
    • Filter updating has been disabled for the moment (as it wasn't working in the first PAL anyway)

    How do I use PAL2?

    Expected Questions:

    • Does this mean the original PAL will no longer be updated?

    Yes, the java PAL will no longer be updated, so I recommend you switch over.


    • Will you still release a jar version of the launcher since it's smaller than the full exe and binaries?

    I might if people want it, let me know.


    • So what do I need to do to switch over to the new PAL2?

    All you need to do is go to the download link, unzip it somewhere and then run it, PAL2 will guide you through the rest.


    • Where do I go if I have issues / encountered a bug?

    Go to /r/PoEAddonLauncher or create an issue on my github.


    • Where can I find the original?

    The original is over at https://github.com/POE-Addon-Launcher/PoE-Addon-Launcher it still works but it won't receive any more updates.

    Question/Discussion for GGG: What is the difference beteween a dedicated lab runner and dedicated chars for delve/incursion/betrayal?

    In the baeclast Chris Wilson mentioned that GGG hesitates to change the lab enchantments because they do not want to destroy the possibility for people to gear up a lab runner and make a ton of currency with just with running lab.

    People want to do the same with delve/incursion/betrayal. What is the difference in these? Why is one of these playstyles supported and the others should not be?

    Edit: Wow i really love the discussion this has started! Thanks for your input. I have to mention that i totally forgot about Einhar and his Beasts, but I guess that shows that in my mind his content just fits the most as a random interrupt to the normal mapping. Additionally i want to add that the question needs to be asked for each of these systems indiviually. For some it would just not fit to be easily acessible, some maybe would just be too lame if the rewards need to be toned down to compensate. And of course there needs to be opportunity cost for running specific content. After all this discussion another question popped up for me to clarify my point: Is there maybe a possibility to create a unique "niche" playstyle (like a lab runner) for people to enjoy without relying on maps to acess it?

    Because in the end, if you have to run maps to acess that content you need to be good at clearing maps fast, too.

    Hopefully GGG sees this thread and puts some consideration into the idea. :)

    New Crafting guide series - Including translations

    Started making a new series focused on crafting, starting out super super basic and will go more and more advanced and guide players all the way to endgame crafting

    We're also doing Brazilian Portuguese and Russian translations in the captions, with Korean to be coming soon as well, feel free to give feedback, trying to pump out a ton of videos to help new / intermediate players before league start, especially those who have 500+ hours and go "???" at crafting

    Will also do things like "How to craft a phys axe" with very specific cases etc, lots of videos to come!

    I really wonder how they are going to buff Sweep to compensate the fact that cyclone is now not only a moving seeep, but also can be stationary. Add to that the fact that the new skill Bladestorm is basically sweep without 2h requirement
