    What to improve next?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 03:44 AM PST

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to maximize my Frost Blades Berserker but I'm in a real struggle right now...

I just have no idea on what to improve now to reach those absurd levels of damage and sustainability that I see some people show off in videos and things like that...

    This is my profile: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Caligo/characters

    The character is BERZERKZRULE

I do know I need more levels, but what else? Feel totally free to criticize and suggest anything!

    Poison Ball Lightning Assassin

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:14 PM PST

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/iNMceJhd

Pros: 8 mil shaper dps, cheap (~2-3 ex at most), low level req

Cons: squishy, ramp time, mana sustain

Assassin ascendancy means that the more poison stacks you inflict, the longer the poison lasts. So, in order to get the maximum value out of that, the aim is to inflict as much poison as possible as fast as possible.

With Ball Lightning, you can expect 10 hits on a stationary target, perhaps more. With a cast speed of around 5 per second, this results in 200 poisons inflicted in 4 seconds, giving a 1000% increase in poison duration, effectively increasing each poison's damage by 10 times. This results in a shaper dps of around 8 million optimally.

Of course, the prerequisite to this is that ball lightning either must do chaos/physical damage or use volkuur's grip in order to inflict poison damage in the first place. With volkuur's, which is used in this build, you can technically build lightning damage and that would allow the poison damage to scale. However, the chaos damage nodes also happen to increase poison chance, multiplier and duration. Therefore I still went with scaling chaos damage.

The build is fun to play around with, and is quite effective against packs and single targets. However, some issues are encountered.

This build is squishy, despite taking as much life as possible. Perhaps I could try building for ES, but that would be too expensive.

Everything costs a lot of mana, meaning the enduring mana flask is essential in any sort of situation. This is due to the increased mana usage provided by the Apep's rages.

There is a ramp time for the poison. For maximum dps, this had a ramp time of 30 seconds. After adjustments, you can achieve reasonable damage within 15 seconds. This, however, means that fast enemies are a pain. However, this is adequate for dealing with metamorphs, since you can start stacking ball lightnings before the metamorph spawns.

For pack clearing, I would swap out the slower projectile gem for a lesser multiple projectiles.

Builds to one shot fully juiced legion encounters?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 05:38 PM PST

Looking for a build with insane chaining that can destroy legion encounters. Don't know if they could do it normally but Ice Shot and ED/Contagion are excluded. My first thought would be Vaal Arc with enough investment would work but I wouldn't know how much it'd need or how to build it to that level outside of a full Eternity Shroud build.

Was hoping to see if any other builds can do this reliably. Maybe some explode chest shenanigans would work? I've never tried it out personally. Let me know! Bonus points if it's CI since I've never tried it.

I f'ed up by picking a really old guide.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:14 PM PST

I started following Demi's low-life RF without realizing that it had some legacy items (like the shield with '20% reduced damage taken over time') until a few days ago.

I'm missing a lot of damage right now on my Templar in Metamorph. What would you recommend me to do from here on?

    Need help to improve/optimise build

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:35 PM PST

Currently finished the main acts and have done some mapping, up to about T3 so far, don't have too much trouble with most mobs (so far) but, I'm also having trouble doing old league content i come across (Legion, Blight, Abyss to name a few).

I'm trying to avoid dual wielding and stay sword and shield, is s+sh viable for endgame?

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/sLGJpLsU

    SSF lightning trap starter

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:13 AM PST

I'm thinking about starting SSF with a lightning trap build and I wonder if anyone got expierence with it in SSF (Softcore) and how it does perform. How important is tinkerskin?

Also is the guide from Demi the best guide for lightning trap? Not a huge fan of his builds in general.

    Blade Flurry Help

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 02:33 PM PST

Hello Exiles!I made two builds within the same PoB (https://pastebin.com/hX3Me21s)

One is a Gladiator and the other is a Zerker, both uses the same gear, and almost the same tree, the only thing different is the clear speed and damage. Gladiator has better clear speed because of the ascendancy node "Gratuitous Violence" (basically makes things explode when they bleed)

On the other hand, Zerker has a lot more damage, sorta more life, but less clear speed... I would need an explody chest for late late game but for now a belly or loreweave will do fine.

The Rares in the PoB is taken from Fast AF's Youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PulyqGJNDHg, he is running a gladiator so he wont need the explody chest for it.

Now my question is... Which one is just better for a second character? My plan is to just start a league starter next league and farm up currency to afford this build. (I have no clue how much this build would cost but im going to guess somewhere between 50-80ex)

Also Anything like tips or fixes on the tree would be really appreciated!

Once again Thank You Very Much!

Edit: To change between the two builds just click on tree and select which tree you want at the bottom

Improvement of dps / def layer used

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:14 PM PST

    https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Ignite_your_butt/characters/coc_bowNova

    Questions:
    1) Damage - other than a lvl 4 empower and a 21/23 ice nova investment, is there other place to get more damage without losing the major defense options?

    2) Defense - between wind dancer / Kintsugi combo + MoM + arcobat / phase arcobat + sand aura + Elusive + ice nova freeze + 5.5k HP and a kiting style, i still die to random 1 shot and dies to Sirus easily (not standing-in-fire nonsense). Is there a better defense option works better than wind dancer / Kintsugi here? or go f* it all-out cannon would be better?

    Smite 100% Lightning Conversion Gladiator

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 10:09 AM PST

So I've been playing this game since alpha and I have never been able to progress past red maps with my own builds. Despite my lengthy time playing I never really took the time to learn exactly how a lot of the layered mechanics work. Recently I decided to research how damage conversion works and I think I have a pretty good handle on it. I am curious if any other experienced builders can help me maximize the potential of the build. I am able* to run low red maps easily right now and I haven't had much trouble with metamorphs or bosses as yet, but I can't shake the feeling that there is something I might be missing.

Here is my PoB code for anyone who wants to take a look. Thanks!

    LL Fireball Inq

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:01 AM PST

    Hey All,

Wanted to attempt a LL build come 3.10, but hate mines/BV. So I started crafting out a fireball build, making use of Prism Guardian. The goal will be avoiding Shavs as long as possible, so stacking Chaos resistance onto the empty ring/amulet would be a goal. I'm also not super attached to Cerberus Limb in the weapon slot: a good wand is probably the better option. I included Lvl 70, 80, and 100 trees. Feedback appreciated!
