| Posted: 18 Aug 2020 01:14 AM PDT Cyclone and frostblades are the first to come to mind. Vaal cyclone seems to deal no damage at all at dead centre of the cyclone, which is exactly where all the mobs end up. either you kill them or they reach the eye of the storm and kill you safely. investing in area will make them take longer in the damage part, but also ever so slightly increase the blind spot and if they make it there you have to cancel to engage. Similarly, frostblades seems to not hit or split if you're a bit too close to an enemy. Both skills are tested on chars with 100% accuracy against mobs that arent special or more evasive than normal. | First time player - need help with VD Spellslinger Posted: 18 Aug 2020 02:33 AM PDT This is my first league, started with Enki Arc, progressed slowly, then my friend finished the league and donated his VD Spellslinger gear, so I've decided to reroll. Right now i can run T14 maps with ease, T15 and T16 are bit challenging due to survivability, especially on -max res maps. Looking for advices on what to improve, my goal is to kill A2, maybe A4 Sirus before league ends. I can spend around 3ex. Here is the link to my PoB - https://pastebin.com/PbuBNK7A [link] [comments] | ||
| Build Suggestion (75ex budget // no crafting just buying) Posted: 18 Aug 2020 02:28 AM PDT What's a good build to do i have 75ex right now and i don't know what to do. Planning on making a CoC but might end up having meh dmg. [link] [comments] | ||
| Definitive Max Block Gladiator / Soliciting Thoughts on the Build Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:23 AM PDT My league is mostly done on my main character and I wanted to get some practice in for next league, as I think I'm going to do Max Block gladiator as a league-starter. This league the PoENinja ladder for lacerate is a little all over the place in terms of trees/variations, with a lot of people using timeless and cluster jewels that don't display well there and aren't things I'll have access to on league start. Does anyone have a paste bin or suggestion for a version of max block glad that doesn't depend greatly on those? The sort of version of the build that would easily take you to 95 or so, but might struggle to push into deep endgame content? I have the version Steel/Ziz put up for 3.10, which seems like my best option so far. Any help would be great, and a discussion of pros and cons on certain choices by anyone who's played a lot of the build? Is it best to play the 2 axe version until getting into red maps at league start, then re-spec-ing to sword + board when you want to push engame? The Surrender v. Lioneye's Sheild? The necessity of rhylatha's coil? Best cluster jewel nodes? Good CwDT setups/other setups now that vaal molten shell was nerfed? I played the 2 axe/soultaker version of lacerate glad last league and had a blast, but the sword + board seems much more viable to push 100. Thanks in advance for the help! [link] [comments] | ||
| Is Archmage Storm Brand Hierophant still worth running? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 05:39 PM PDT I never played this build last league and have been wanting to try it, likely next league. I heard it got nerfed pretty badly. Is it still viable? I would like to be able to play endgame content with it, but I do not know how badly it was nerfed. Any info is appreciated. Thanks! | Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:57 PM PDT The title says it all. I just started playing in SSF a few days ago. I'm following Ziz's vd spellslinger and it's been fun to scale, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried poison power siphon in SSF? It looks like it's a lot of fun and I'm curious how bossing is with it. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:04 PM PDT I built this character to clear harvest T4 seed fields and Awakener, however the build seems to be lacking heavily in damage still. To the point AW8 Sirus was a struggle and I died 5 times. I'm comparing my build to another similar character I pulled from poe ninja. The guy from PoE Ninja seems to be doing more than twice the damage of my character, even after you remove a bunch of jewels to pretend his was at lv 87 just like mine. Where is this massive damage difference coming from if it's not the jewels? Does an extra 3.5k mana really explain the entire difference? My build: https://pastebin.com/nVqFrzL0 Poe Ninja character: https://pastebin.com/y6ecTzRx I realize a lot of his gear pieces are still much better than mine, but I really need to figure out where the most impactful items are, and/or the most important mods that I'm missing. | EK/BV Inquisitor - Build Advice Posted: 17 Aug 2020 02:25 PM PDT Been wanting to do something with EK for clear and BV for bosses. Spent some time googling old EK/BV builds and some time in PoB and came up with this. Not sure if the damage will be there for end game bosses. Life sustain also being a concern wondering if with all of the block chance would a recover #% life on block be worth adding in. [link] [comments] | ||
| Viable build as of now with earth shatter? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 02:21 PM PDT I was going to ask I see a lot of earthshatter builds becoming popular and for a complete noob if I go for it and shouts and like a two handed spec if that would be legit on a difficulty of 1 to 10. If you google earth shatter marauder it's the first one that comes up on YouTube. I also see a lot of hate for harvest and going core is the gist that most people prefer rng than deterministic? Will this be resolved before Poe 2? I don't want to invest hundreds of hours and it not be viable. I don't know how to use Poe builder really but I use the guides as much as possible. Thanks. | SSF Max Block Penance Brand Scion - Converting a PoB to a PoE experience Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:37 PM PDT Who am I, and why did I do this to myself? I am a noob in my 2nd league of PoE. PoE has enabled me to be all about personal challenges and growth, so this is what this is. A new build/solution of a common archetype. SSF this league specifically has been a blast, albeit I feel like I am hamstringing myself in progress. But thats the fun. I realized I am probably good enough to get to SSF with enough currency on any non troll, well thought out build, so I wanted to see how that plays out on SSF. With Harvest, I've loved it. What this guide is, and what this guide is not It is not me selling this build saying everyone should play it. Its not me claiming to be the best, or claiming to be a good idea. This guide is how I thought of an archetype, and how I made a build out of it, and how I progressed. Better players can tell me 1000 things I could've done better, and newer players can look up to this as a means of seeing my logic and where I am coming from. What did I want out of this build? In Diablo 3 there was a period in the meta where there was this mega tanky witch that face tanked literally everything and also did absurd damage. Perfect archetype for me. Spellcasters are typically strong in PoE, and block is generally very strong. I enjoy the brand playstyle, so I wanted to combine the three things. Max block brand spellcaster. A good question to ask for any build. Sometimes you want a DoTter. Sometimes you want a mega zoomer. A bosser. I wanted a "max block gladiator" that casts spells. I wanted to play penance brand. I wanted a zoomer. How did I achieve it I built this guy on PoB to not need gear. I achieved everything through the passive tree. I pathed to elusive. I pathed to all spell block nodes. I pathed to brand nodes. Scion gives us 4 or 5 extra passive points for being a shell of a player until you do your third lab. Necro glad ascendent with bone offering gives something crazy like what, 50% spell and 50% attack block, if not more? Rough estimate. Bone offering gives so much block and so much hp on block that you can survive so much dumb stuff. You just have to get to like 55 to access it. The playstyle Brand playstyle is not for everyone. Penance brand is not for every brand player. To explain penance brand is to say....imagine Essence Drain / Contagion. But as a hit. But instead of being a hit that is frontloaded immediately, it is actually backloaded. The hit damage is delayed. You zoom in, place a few brands on pack A, zoom out. Pack A dies, you get elusive and move on to pack B. Repeat. Pros and cons. Strengths and clear weaknesses. Pros
Cons
My PoB You can see my gear besides my wand and gloves are actually pretty terrible, even for harvest crafting standards. My wand is okay, and I literally built my glove off one temple mod. This is why I think there is so much potential with this build! I've done so much progressing the atlas I havent focused on progressing my actual gear until now. I took the time last night to look at relevant bases, so I have some clear insight as to what I should improve on. My overall thoughts All opinions on Harvest aside, this has enabled me, a relatively mediocre player to hypothesize an archetype and see it through. I can't tell if I like the build because its fun, because theres so much potential, or because it is my brainchild. I dont like the feeling that this guy isnt strong enough to kill A8 Sirus with, and I dont like the feeling I might be forced to go to trade league to progress with my bootleg character archetypes, but we will see. Ill call it how I see it. In trade league, I could get this build to like 90% of its potential. Theres so many ways you can go. Archmage, indigon, elemental conversion (phys to light, lightning to cold, cold to fire), stormfire, agnostic/MoM, etc. In SSF, I am gatekept by my lack of knowledge on how to gear and progress, so Im building defenses from my passive tree and not my gear. Block is readily accessible if you look in the right places, and very strong....so I build around that! Any thoughts? As much as this is a guide or more of a showcase on my thought process, I'd love to hear yours. How do I take what I have, and make it pick up from where I am lacking? Bossing is an issue. Phys damage reduction and damage mods are an issue, I am nowhere near undying. Maybe my pathing is actually troll. Maybe the glad ascendency isnt doing me any favors. If you want to watch this in play, want to watch me learn harvest crafting and make incremental gains, you can do so! twitch.tv/lowkeyripper. I enjoy making these guides of scuffed but functional builds, so watch me play them on there, learn as a player, etc on stream! twitch.tv/lowkeyripper. Come hang, theory craft some fun builds, and watch me struggle doing bosses :) [link] [comments] | ||
| Help decide between CoC builds Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:31 PM PDT After a break in PoE I collected a bit of currency to start my second build (after selling seeds i will have around 10ex) and i want to do some CoC to later farm for INT stacker (or other high budget build) I can't decide between ice nova and lightning focused one, I played first one in the past (Esoro's version with 2 cospris) and had some problems with survivability in T16 maps. Now on PoEninja i see version going ES and wielding a shield, which seems quite strong. On the other hand is the lighting focused one, I've seen 2 versions, one with doryani's prototype and sire of shards and other with mjolner (Mathill combined them but it seemed a bit to complex for me and gear would have to be too specific) So what are your recommendations? Which one is easier to get going and farm some currency with it, which of them is the fastest and which most tanky? [link] [comments] | ||
| I plan on having fun with a Totem Build next League. Which do you recommend? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:19 PM PDT I wanted to try Freezing Pulse totems, but truth be told I don't know any totem builds other than those and Flameblast. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:22 AM PDT Hello everyone Harvest is pretty much done for me, since I've done everything I wanted to do, so I'm on the point where I'm starting to plan my next leaguestart. I would very much like to play a build focused on Ignite, since I enjoy DoT mechanics a lot in this game, and every other version of DoT I already played. I did a Pestilent Strike Poison Pathfinder and a Vortex Occultist last league, a Bleed Bow Gladiator, Toxic Rain Trickster and Scourge Arrow Pathfinder this league, and I also started a ED/C Trickster, but deleted it because I didn't enjoy the crappy single target damage. So yeah, I do enjoy DoTs a lot, but I can't seem to find any ignite focused build that suits my expectations. What I want to do: Generally I leaguestart with a build, and push it from the very beginning all the way up to a several mirror worth endgame crusher. Both the PS Pathfinder and the Bleed Bow Glad did this very well for me. Cheap to start, but pretty much infinite scaling towards the end. Also I prefer Attack builds over Spellcasters but both are fine, if the playstyle doesn't just consist of running away constantly. The only things I found so far are Mathils burning arrow build, which seems a bit meme'ey to me, and mbXtreme's Arc Archmage Ignite Trickster, which is WAY too expensive to leaguestart with. Also even with his high investment he still had serious trouble killing sirus, which is something I'd like to avoid. I appreciate any suggestions. If nothing comes up I guess it's another poison char after all :) [link] [comments] | ||

| Anybody tried to minmax a HoAg build lately? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:54 AM PDT Hey, I noticed that ppl dont play it anymore after the few nerfs, but Im in a mood for some occultist explode action. Anybody tried, how far we can push its dmg or overall effectiveness in high budget gear? I looked through poeninja and the dps numbers of ppl playing it atm look pretty underwhelming compared to other builds in harvest. Any experience or opinions about HoaG lately? Is it worth playing? I appreciate any info! Thanks. [link] [comments] |
