My very budget Poison Pathfinder league starter mini-guide Posted: 22 Dec 2020 07:04 PM PST In Flashback, I set out to do a league starter that is both not meta and uncommon within its own class and skill choice. I also wanted to do this without needing a big 6l body armour, and hopefully would cost me about 50c. I always love the Poison Pathfinders, and after doing some testing in standard, really came to love the dual claw version. As you can see in another post I made here, I think Viper Strike + Melee Splash is the go-to for the claw Poison PF. So let's get into my choices: Jbl, why are you taking Viper Strike over Pestilent Strike? PS is made for clear, cant you just switch to VS for bosses? I'm glad you asked - no. Look, PS is good, maybe very good. However, it has a big problem. PS does all of its damage to the target you are attacking (or any other targets with Tribal Fury / strike gloves / Ancestral Call). In big packs, this means if you're targeting the rare, you're only also hitting one blue/white mob at a time while doing this. Then when those secondary mobs die, they pass on the PS explosions. This is fine on easy content. But as the content becomes harder, it isn't great. The solution is VS+MS. Go ahead, try it. Not only can we now target rares while cleaning up multiple whites/blues around the rare (faster than PS does), but we're also hitting many more targets at a time, giving us a LOT more LGoH. So not only are we killing more 2ndary mobs, we're doing more damage to our main target (or equal), and getting MUCH more life back for it. It's a win win. However, this build still works exactly the same with PS, just drop Growing Agony. I do bust out PS if I need to clear Porcupines in a tough map. Jbl, are you really doing red maps on 4l, without crazy uniques? Yes. How are we accomplishing this? There are seven easy to get early unique items that we use. The Embalmer for a pseudo 5L (put VS here), and a 4L Dendrobate chest. The Embalmer not only gives us a pseudo 5l with Vile Toxins, but also adds chaos damage to attacks. Dendrobate gives us bonus poison damage and duration if we have over 300 dex and 150 int. Growing Agony is the Viper Strike threshold jewel we're going to use to get more poison damage. You'll want two Wasp's nests, which are very solid weapons until well into late game. And Coralito's signature is a huge DPS boost in a flask slot. The last unique we want is Witchfire brew for the always on Despair curse. This is the only "costly" item early. Thats a lot of uniques, how much did that cost? Here are the costs for those items on day 1 to 3: Day 1 - Embalmer 2c, Growing Agony 1c Day 2 - 2x Wasp's Nest @ 2c each, Coralito's 3c Day 3 - Dendrobate 1c, Witchfire 8c (big spender!) Wait a second, Dendrobate needs us to get to 150 int! Unpossible!! Eh. Now we get into some choices. One of the reasons we chose to make the tree the way we do is because of Int. Primal Spirit, Coordination, and Trickery are a must. You're likely going to want to go to Coldhearted Calculation too (but this little area can be removed if you otherwise can get 150 int). Of course, you're going to want a large amount of int on gear somewhere. The most obvious area is the necklace - I recommend 40+ here. Fine, you have the int. How are you getting resists with all these uniques? I'm glad you asked. One thing I love about this build is that I have a reason to go over to the Scion resists. Which leads me tooooo.... But isn't going to the Scion resists / life wheel a lot of travelling? Sure is. But guess what? We can make use of other nodes there. The flask/life nodes in the Profane Chemistry area are great for us. More life and increased flask effect. And the best thing about Poison is that skill duration really helps us. So we can take the duration nodes up to Exceptional Performance as well. I think that summarizes some of my "questionable" choices that are out of the norm for this type of build. They're all combined together to ensure we're getting the most out of our way under 50c build. Don't we need to hit extra targets? No. This does just fine for mapping with Melee Splash and Pathfinder Poison Prolif. However, if you want to go Pestilent Strike, I agree it does not feel great without extra strikes. What about bossing? Ok - i admit it. We should remove Melee Splash and put in Multistrike/Melee Phys instead for more single target. Hey, it's an under 50c 4l build, you can't complain about gem swaps. Movement skills? Withering step + second wind + dash for movement. Withering step + increased duration nodes is a great combo. In addition, we can do a few other things. CWDT + phase run, and one of the best cheap annoints, Freedom of Movement. The combination of these means we're constantly phasing with increased dodge while phasing. Great combo Totem?? I highly prefer Ancestral Protector, with Withering Touch plus Multiple Totems. You can add Culling Strike (offense against big targets), Blind (defense), or Faster Attacks (general more offense) to this as you see fit. Of course, you can go to Wither Totems as well, which you'll see most people use. However, I don't like their 8s spell totem time, and I love the bonus attack speed / plus blind/cull on AP. Buffs? Malevolence for skill duration, Herald of Agony because DUH, and Precision from level 1 to 5 depending on mana. If you get an enlighten this can be slotted in as well. As it levels you can switch out precision for something like Arctic Armour or Flesh & Stone Other skills? You'll want CWDT with a guard skill (I use Immortal Call). Until you can get your hands on a source of Despair (usually Witchfire Brew, but you can get lucky on a corrupted pair of gloves or a CoH ring), you can put Despair here. Once you have Despair elsewhere, I recommend Phase Run (see above for combo). You can put Blood Rage on this or keep it separate and cast yourself. I also recommend using Plague Bearer. You can combo this with Inc AOE, Enhance, and Empower. I realize Empower is costly early, but it's not necessary. VS Support? You'll want to have at least one red socket for Melee Splash and Multistrike on bosses. The other sockets depend on your gear, but likely are going to be Unbound Ailments and Deadly Ailments. However, as you get higher, you're going to need more defense. At some point, I think the best combo is Unbound Ailments, Fortify, and Mutlistrike / Melee Splash. Feel free to skip Fortify and use Deadly Ailments or Multistrike instead as needed. Other items? This is a budget build, but at least we're getting resists on the tree. Get as much life and evasion as possible on gear while meeting your resists and Int/Dex needs for Dendrobate. Chaos damage, DoT damage, and flat phys are good too. Don't worry about other stuff at this point. For flasks, you want to make sure you have the usual life flask. I recommend a Silver Flask for Onslaught and a Jade Flask for more evasion. Staunching, Warding, and the last one is free. You can go reflexes for even more EV or Adrenaline for more speed. With Withering Step and Onslaught you shouldn't need a QS flask. Also remember before you become element immune from the PF ascendancy, you may want heat / dousing on those flasks. So what else do we need to know? Playstyle is hit and run. On regular mobs, try to target the closet mob without running into the middle of packs. Use Withering Step to run around and between packs, applying wither, then stop and kill. Note that our extra duration helps wither last longer as well as Withering Step. For bosses, swap out of Melee Splash. Use hit and run tactics! Drop your totems, spam your flasks, cast your Plague Bearer, click Withering Step, then hit the mob a few times, recast Withering Step and RUN OUT. Let your very high duration poisons do work for you while you regen / regain flask charges. You're only going to have about 5k HP at 90, so manually avoiding big hits is a must. POB? Here is my sample start from 3.12 Flashback. https://pastebin.com/EpUMKuAb Total cost was the 19c from above, plus another 12c. The big spenders on this POB were 5c for boots and 3c for the belt. This does not include some of the mods I put on gear, which is another few chaos. But I play SSF! Poison Dual Claw Pathfinder works fine in SSF. The only difference from my build is that you don't have to focus on those Int nodes. Obviously no Dendrobate, so a 5l/6l chest will do if you cant land an Embalmer / after you pass it. The tree works as is, but you may not want to go over to the Scion resist / duration nodes. I like them though. I play HC! Ok, this is going to be different. I'm not usually a HC player, HOWEVER, I have played this build to late 80s in SSFHC, and late 70s in Delve Event HC. I think the optimal way to play the build in HC is converting EV to Armour, and going down the bottom left to Call to Arms and the Life nodes over there. That is out of the scope of this guide. What can I expect to get to with this build? With the POB you see below, I had enough DPS to do t14 and t15 A4 maps without much trouble. I was still crushing A4 Conqs quickly as well. However, you do get a bit crunchy that high with around 5k life, so you need to move a lot. Note however, I am pretty old and gimpy so I am sure you will do better! What can this type of build do end game? I've never really pushed it. HOWEVER, here is a sample of my build that I was able to do t16 100% Delirious maps and full Simulacrums pretty easily. I have a lot of awakened gems, but my weapons suck and my gear is fairly meh. Note I play this differently than most other people play this build. I go up to those Scion nodes, and I go down left to Call to Arms / Tribal Fury/ Bloodless. So I have instant Enduring Cry. I don't use Plague Bearer in this version because I hate it and I think the DPS is negligible for the annoyance. I also HIGHLY recommend going with a Foreboding Hybrid Flask and annointing Hardened Scars for the constant Fortify, letting you get more DPS from support gems. POB example of this: https://pastebin.com/9qyxn21r Of course, you should also read Torstein the Fallen's great guide (and thread) on the official forums. Can I do this with ranged? I personally don't like Venom Gyre or Cobra Lash. If you want a ranged version that is similar, I recommend u/wolfie_poe's Scourge Arrow / Toxic Arrow Poison Pathfinder builds, which are terrific and what I started with. Any videos? Here is a video doing a T13 map. Note that unlike the POB above, my gems were still 19 and I have yet to get the last PF Ascendancy (Ailment Immunity). Also, no upgraded Pantheons at all. Enfeeble + Harbinger = sllooooow [link] [comments]

What are some fun League Starter Boss Killers? Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:51 PM PST I've been thinking a lot about what I want from a league starter and the ability to boss on a scuffed 5 link into red maps would be huge for me. Because that's where I mostly get stuck and decide to level a second character. Last league I started with a Vortex Occultist, while good - got boring pretty fast. And also fights like Sirus would take a very long time to complete. I know miners are good, but afaik they aren't all that tanky (which I like) and detonating mines etc really hurt my wrist the last time I played one. Also not a giant fan of minions. I also have my eye on a Toxic Rain Pathfinder - but I'm not sure how good it is like day 2-3 of the league fighting a T12+ Drox for example. [link] [comments]
Looking for a build that gets me to 100. SSF Standard Posted: 23 Dec 2020 04:14 AM PST Hey guys, I am looking for a build that gets me realtively easy to 100. With easy I mean defensively it should be very well balanced. Offensively I dont mind a slow playstyle, but Totems, Mines and Traps are a no go though. Its SSF, but after all these leagues, I have so much stuff, that I can probably build pretty much everything, except for aura stacker. I already have a pretty good Max Block Bleed Gladiator lvl 97 https://pastebin.com/WYjCvUFK , but Im not sure if I want to play it to 100. I tried to put together an Ivory Tower Mana Stacking Hiero https://pastebin.com/xgUeKJ92 - but it feels pretty squishy, which I did not expect at all. Also I dont know very much about Low life builds or ES builds in general. Missing Skyforth, but oh well.. I also have a COC Ball lightning Assa https://pastebin.com/XCYHAxcR - I personally think its the most insanely equipped Character I have, but for some reason, it sucks. I absolutely hate this character. Can I do something better with these Items? It feels super squishy and the damage is terrible, despite all the crazy Harvest Items. I have a Bow Champion with the old Arborix https://pastebin.com/kXfpx1gF. The current build doesnt use Cluster Jewels, But I do have an old deep Cut +1 Impale Cluster laying around. Again - Feels squishy, no chance of hitting 100. Then there is a BV Chieftain https://pastebin.com/Ag3VAMY8. I crrently Use Sceptre/Shield, but I do have a +1 Gems / Spell dmg bow and Signal Fire + Devouring Diadem available aswell. It has the pre nerf Buff effect Circle of Anguishs. But again, Damage feels low, defensively it feels squishy. The Clear is absolutely insane though. But it sucks on bosses. Only bottleneck would be 6 linking stuff. But I have lots of 6links laying around. Unique 6l Chests would be rather hard to get though. Id love to hear some ideas of builds I could try out. Dont mind any item requirements, I can most likely even get all the Temple Uniques with some time investment into t3 Unique Sacrifice Room, as I have all the Vials and Base Items (I think). Thanks! Posted: 22 Dec 2020 11:36 AM PST Hello dear fellows, I have recently posted about a shitty build that I was following so I decided to change it. I am now following for the first time a wander pathfinder power siphon / kinetic blast build and I really do not understand some things.
Ty for your answers guys :D Edit: Her is my current POB: https://pastebin.com/HNzMfZ2w Here is the POB I am currently following: https://pastebin.com/p53TgFxN [link] [comments]
So... I found a shavs... can someone tell me what to do with it? (HCSSF flashback) Posted: 22 Dec 2020 06:48 PM PST I've never had a shav's before (HCSSFbtw) and I really want to try a build around it because I've never found one before. Can someone suggest something for me? I just need advice on what to do with it, other than global chat telling me "don't die lol". [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:17 PM PST I'm playing Penance brand on assassin, with void batteries (power charge/crit heavy) I can't seem to get this build's dps to actually be ok, it's reasonable enough for mapping but comes extremely short on bosses, A4 conquerors dumpster me super hard since I have to stop and cast a lot (swiftbrand) I tried going for more damage nodes at the expanse of survivability (4k ES + CI) but it seems that I can't do much more apart from grabbing awakened support gems to replace some of my links, which still leaves me with abysmal dps Is there any other solution than going full shaper/chaos setup or double call of + badge of the brotherhood headhunter bonanza ? I'd be extremely glad if anybody could have a look at this mess and help me sort it out ! [link] [comments]

Looking for help mid race (Flashback) Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:32 AM PST So I started playing flashback yesterday ( I started the event on the 3rd day, I was late I know, wasn't sure I was going to play) and I went ascendant because my plan was to go Whispering Ice Cyclone Int stacking build for late game, however I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to do it because the gear requirements are so crazy. Today I'm level 82 (im in hc flashback) and I leveled using 4 heralds and split arrow. Now im tier 2 maps, I think my damage is falling off, and my single target is really bad. What are my options to go for a fast clearing endgame build? Because I think my initial goal of Int stacking whispering ice cyclone ascendant has way too many gear requirements that aren't even attainable in a 3 week race. Here is my profile for reference. I have no idea what to transition to for the endgame, and I'm worried the whispering ice cyclone build is way out of my depth (ive never played it before, and the gear looks almost unattainable) Any ideas for which direction I should go next? Or just stick with my current build and save for an inpulsa? What do I do? My clearspeed and aoe damage is top notch, my survivability is 50/50, and my single target is horrible. Posted: 22 Dec 2020 02:48 PM PST Hi, With the new flashback evet going on, I wanna try going for level 80 on HC SSF, And i've wanted to try either caustic arrow or toxic rain to reach that goal. Does anyone have experience with both, And can tell me the pros/con of one another ? Also, I would like to know which ascendancy is my best bet to achieve my level 80 goal, Thanks alot. Self-cast Detonate Dead Necro build Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:02 AM PST Has anybody tried out this build during heist? I've seen a lot of people racing with it but haven't seen anyone do any bossing or just general playing around with it. I wouldn't mind trying out the build but I just can't find anyone using this as a general build for everything, including bossing, besides racing. Is the damage or survivability of the build bad? I'd try it out myself if it's any good but I don't have the time to experiment. [link] [comments]

Need help with what to buy next for endgame Toxic Rain Trickster. 2 ex budget Posted: 22 Dec 2020 08:01 AM PST Below is my path of building link. For a little context, I am running T14-16 maps no problem quickly and consistently, beat Atziri and Elder and have awakening level 5 on my atlas. My current goals in order are: defeat Shaper, defeat Uber Atziri, defeat Sirus, defeat Uber Elder. DPS seems to be pretty good, about 4mil damage over time, I do however feel like I get one shot a lot, especially on guardians and bosses, my total health including ES is only around 3900. This was especially a problem on A4 Sirus and Uber Atziri, where I got blasted pretty quick. I was able to beat the elder very quickly on my first try though. My goal is to continue bossing. I have 2 ex in bank and am not sure what to buy next. I have considered a small cluster jewel with Fettle, that would add around 350 HP, but is a pretty big opportunity cost in terms of currency and skill points. My amulet currently does not do much for my life or DPS, but I need the 90% mana region it provides in order to case Toxic Rain consistently Any help greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
