Endless Delve - Normal builds? Posted: 11 Dec 2020 02:08 AM PST TLDR: Roughly at what depth are normal builds heavily challenged in tackling Delve? There's a list of Endless Delve tips and tricks on the POE reddit, which is very helpful. However, as a player who's never gone super deep into Delve and doesn't intend to during this event, at what depth do I need to start worrying about the specific mechanics mentioned in that stickied post? I've been trying to make some builds that cover some of those points, but I'm wondering if it's just a more efficient use of my time to treat it like a league start and build up a character normally if I won't run into that difficulty wall. 1H Bleed EQ max block Glad worth it? Posted: 10 Dec 2020 07:01 PM PST So I have never played a max block character and I want to try it alongside some form of slow slam with fist of war and warcry rotation, so it looks like bleed glad offers me both in the form of 1H axe + shield, ideally elder axe and surrender. Loving that idea right now. Thing is, going 1H gets me lower base damage to scale bleeds, so I'm planning to compensate with chance to bleed and abyssus, plus some steel rings if I can. So naturally my main concerns are 1. Can 1H EQ damage scale well enough and 2. Can I survive with abyssus. To be clear, this would be softcore and I'm ok with dying once in a while, but... The idea here is being tanky enough to not care constantly about wearing abyssus. I tried to include every tool I could think of to reduce phys damage taken. My endgame theorycrafted build would get max attack and spell block, around 5.8-6k life, 40k armour fully buffed -meaning 8k molten shell-, basalt flask, taste of hate for that sweet phys taken as cold, fortify, 3 end charges pretty much always up, and even a lv1 chaos golem on a cwdt for the extra 3% phys reduction lol. Sorry for the text wall and thanks for any input. No PoB for now sadly, just a general idea, but it's pretty standard life and res rare items with surrender and abyssus max block glad. State of Cold Dot - Occultist or Trickster Posted: 10 Dec 2020 06:29 AM PST I just want to use this thread to facilitate a discussion on which is the best ascendancy and maybe what conditions need to be met for one to overtake the other. Some simple numbers for context - for those who have a 5L or 6L Vortex, 70% of the vortexers go Occultist and 14% go trickster in SC trade. in HCSSF, things change - 53% go occultist, 34% go trickster. Occultist offers a few things: Offensive boosts: -20% cold res, +20% cold DoT. Cursed enemies take increased damage, Ele weakness could be used as another curse. QoL: enemies have 100% less life regen. Corpse explosion. Defensive boosts - cannot be frozen/chilled, freeze enemies for bursts of time. Chilled enemies do reduced damage. Cursed enemies deal reduced damage. Temp chains / enfeeble can be used as another curse. Trickster offers a few things: Offensive: A ton of things that boost DoT damage thru Patient Reaper and especially Prolonged Pain. Increased cast speed per ghost shroud but that might be more QoL. Defensive: Conditional stun immunity, 10% spell dodge. Benefits to going hybrid ES/evasion. QoL: Patient reaper is a free cinderswallow. 10% increased movement speed when you have ghost shrouds. In short, Trickster comes equipped with a free cinderswallow which is massive for mapping and sustaining, and has a ton of DoT goodies through Prolonged Pain. Occultist reduces enemy cold res potentially by a TON if you use a double offensive curse, and also has the ability to go something useful like temp chains / frostbite for some defensive utility as well. Personally, I've always been a big fan of tricksters and have had good experience with them on league starts because it seems like you can go very far for very cheap as they dont really require much gear...at all. So I'm wondering why there is such a huge disparity between Occultist and Tricksters between HCSSF and SC trade - is HCSSF the avant garde and trickster is the new way to go? Is occultist better in certain situations and trickster better than others? Maybe trickster functions better with shitty self-found gear and occultist is better for CI/LL shenanigans that might not be readily available in SSF. If I can interject my own opinion / thoughts, I believe occultist was the way to go for cold dot but then it got nerfed. I don't know when and by how much, as I started playing laaaaate metamorph. All I know is that if you look at Harvest and Heist data, Heist is seeing more tricksters play cold dot in both SC trade and HCSSF. Are occultists straight up better, or are players holding on to tradition too much? [link] [comments] | ||

[Endless Delve] Bleed EQ Gladiator Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:00 PM PST This is my first time making a bleed build and wanted to get all of your thoughts on it. I made it with low gear/stat req in mind. I'm not too sure how much increased bleed damage/duration I will be able to find/craft so my only included gear in the pob is a 400dps axe and a silver flask. I took fending and somewhat scaled attack speed (I took ancestral protector over warchief as the damage difference was negligible) to knockback enemies as my main source of damage is bleed. The idea is to spam EQ to get big bleed with the aftershock while knocking enemies back with the intial hit and kiting as necessary. Is this a feasible way to play a bleed glad? I have very limited experience with the archtype. As im not focusing on hit damage I didnt link less duration on EQ. I'm kinda worried as even though I've setup the pob with the best case scenario in mind the numbers look a bit inflated. [link] [comments] | ||

If i were to apply a source of "gain %physical damage as extra X damage" such as hatred/herald of ash, would I get any of the benefits or does the 100% conversion of the skill go first? In Heist and Harvest i played fire BV chieftain and an aurastacking stonegolemancer but i think these two won't be playable in this event. And my fun, weirdo build idea for endless delve Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:02 AM PST Ok so I'm pretty sure I know the answer here, but I'm cooking up another weirdo build for endless delve and I figured I would ask. If I was to do a base attack with poison damage (let's say, cyclone) would I only leech the physical "hit" from the cyclone? Or would some of my poison damage leech as well? See below for my thinking. Poison Cyclone Ascendant - slayer/assassin. Big AoE and huge life leech from Slayer. Built in poison chance of 40% from assassin side of ascendancy. Plus free power charge generation. Poison support gem brings us to 100% chance to poison. You can grab "thrill seeker" for the mana leech as you track over to the acro keystones (use this and wind dancer for the defenses). Fortify in the 6L "more damage with hits and ailments caused by melee hits" then fill out the 6L with vile toxins, deadly ailments and unbound ailments. The only concern I would have is the mana leech, would we be able to get enough of it from thrill seeker in this type of build? Without some form of mana leech, I assume this character couldn't work in this type of event where there is no crafting bench or ability to gain free cyclone channeling. Any thoughts? Opinions?
