Now that the patch notes are out.. what will your leaguestarter be? And why?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 02:34 PM PST

    Title.

I am still not sure, but probably one of these: - Carrion Golem (still good) - TR trickster/pathfinder - Phys Skeletons

Edit: my own possibilities on which build I start with. Might change a few times in the next 48 hours hehe xd

Divine Ire Ignite Elementalist Idea (18m damage ignites, Scorching Ray filler)

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:53 AM PST

I'm sure this is a build many are thinking about so I made a quick PoB featuring 30m damage ignites with a 1m DPS Scorching Ray for the Fire Exposure. Build doesn't really require anything expensive, but obviously will do less with a less than ideal weapon.

    https://pastebin.com/V1tWTPzX

    • Longer duration ignites means we blast something once then fill with the newly buffed Scorching Ray for massive 50% Fire Exposure until the Ignite expires.
    • Because we convert to pure lightning damage, Elemental Equilibrium naturally works without any additional effort since Ignites do Fire damage despite a lightning source.
    • Because we always ignite, Crit is mostly irrelevant, allowing Elemental Overload and saving nodes that would be spent on crit normally.
    • The strange Divergent Burning Damage increases non-damaging ailment effects, and with Shaper of Storms this means we get both additive and more effect on Shock, resulting in a >30% shock with a single point of damage on all enemies.

I'm still tinkering with a lot and a lot of stuff is placeholdery until PoB updates but let me know if you have any suggestions.

Ele hit barrage support interaction you should know

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 12:02 AM PST

According to the wiki ele hit supported by barrage support only chooses one element per barrage so with ee you will do less damage.

Spectral shield throw Inquisitor with hydrosphere battlemage for single target

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 02:09 AM PST

So with spectral shield throw getting a pretty large overall buff I was wondering how viable this would be as an Inquisitor taking both consecrated ground nodes, instruments of virtue (battlemage and +30% more attack damage), and Rigtheous providence (crit chance from strengt/int).

With a magna eclipse you would get a decent base crit chance (7-7.5%) and a large amount of armour/evasion (between 1700-1900) for extra added damage.

Convert it all to fire damage for easier scaling with avatar of fire and the physical damage to fire nodes between templar and marauder.

Then for hydro sphere it deals cold damage if it isn't affected by an ailment. Link cold to fire + avatar of fire and it would deal pure fire damage.

Then scale both with stacking strenght/intellect, fire/physical/elemental damage, and global crit chance/crit multiplier.

The only parts it might struggle is getting global crit multi (there is barely any on the tree) and attack speed/accuracy for spectral shield throw. Attack speed could somewhat be helped by taking minion nodes though.

For other items volcanus seem pretty good; very high base damage for an 1h weapon for battlemage, 160%-200% increased critical strike chance during avatar of fire (seems global to me) and 75%-100% increased physical damage against burning targets.

Astrementis for more int/strenght stacking. Maybe maligaro's Virtuosity (which sets crit multi to 300%) since global crit multi is hard to get.

    Thoughts?

Cyclone Slayer as 3.13 SSF Starter?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 10:57 PM PST

    Hi guys,

anyone has a guide or POB for 3.13 Cyclone Slayer with the new ascendancies (I guess skill tree will not be so different to 3.12?)

Whats best? 2H-Sword? 2H-Axe? Or 1-Hand? Still a bit worried about the defenses because I don't like builds which get one shots.

    Thanks!

Hexblast can be a starter build?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:51 AM PST

I'm having bad time to figure out my starter, because i want to try new builds from the start, so i was thinking in a fireball/flamewall elementalist or a hexblast ignite but not sure if has to be occultist or could be elementalist too.

Hexblast looks amazing but i dont know if is mediocre in clear and bossing, people talk so bad about it.

[3.13] Crit Earthquake Berserker build (8 to 18Million Avg. Damage)

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 04:31 AM PST

    Hello.

Im here to share a slow, but very powerful build I made in heist

It will be my starter and It can do everything, any content in the game, and since the new League/expansion requires Big damage for bosses, and league mechanic requires a bit of Aoe for clearing, I figured EQ would be the perfect choice, so im sharing it with you guys if you looking for a big, phat slam build

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/pVS0Y7sz

The build does on average 8 million aftershock average damage from EQ (not counting initial hit) and at max warcries the damage goes up to 18 million, so a certain playstyle is required.

    Frostbolt/Ice Nova Fanatic Bowmage?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:23 AM PST

What do you guys think about this?

    1) 4L Frostbolt setup in Asenath's Chant headgear for the following bonus:

Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Attack with a Bow: Each time you attack with a bow, a socketed spell will be cast. Each spell has a separate 0.3 second cooldown. The triggered spells are targeted where the attack was targeted.

The spell triggers often enough to be viable.

    2) We attack once per second with the bow (using Frenzy) to generate Fanatic charges, trigger Frostbolt and generate Frenzy charges.

    3) Ice Nova in a 6L (this will be our main damage spell, amped up by Fanaticism).

Using a bow over a wand gives us:

    • A bigger bonus from Battlemage.
    • We don't have to use Spellslinger for the Frostbolt setup, which reserves quite a bit of mana.
    • We get another 6L for some juicy debuff link (with "Trigger a socketed spell when you use a skill" crafted mod).

    Toxic Rain Ascendancy Discussion

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:10 PM PST

With all of the changes to the various ascendancy options, it is evident that toxic rain received some new choices. I think that the movement and attack speed from raider (possibly not a league start) could make it viable. Deadeye is certainly on the table now with the Mirage archer and additional arrows. Pathfinder and Trickster are both still strong contenders as well. Curious to hear why you think one of these four is the best and any that you don't agree or if I am leaving something out.

    Bladefall/Blade Blast Raider Starter

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 03:04 AM PST

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/s8en21yz

This is basically the same take as the phys BB Assassin build from last league just now with Raider. I compared it with an Assassin tree including the nerfs and found that Raider gives:

    - Similar to slightly less dps depending on whether crit buffs up like power charges, Assassin's mark, consecrated ground, diamond flask (much higher cast speed, less crit and average hit damage)

    - Way more zoom, about 50-70% increased move speed (the main appeal for me)

    - More dodge (about 60% which can be capped through either better gear, elusive or vaal grace), and more evasion + wind dancer. Though elusive is less reliable and lose the situational damage reduction from Opportunistic

    - Possibly slightly more expensive as it benefits more from nice crit rolls on weapon and shield?

    - Reliable frenzy but unreliable power charge generation (through Assassin's mark) where Assassin is the reverse

Lvl 90 and 100 trees included with timeless jewel variants for the overleech node from Glorious Vanity. If anybody got some thoughts that'd be appreciated, thanks!

Did Guardian just become a decent Totem ascendancy?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:31 AM PST

80% reduced effect of curses on you means you can use Soul Mantle without any uniques, or with just a single ring if points are scarce. You aren't giving up double totems by not going Heiro. Block bonuses, onslaught when summoning 5 totems, unnerve, 30% inc aoe, 10% more damage, 20% inc cast speed.

What would be the best use of the free hand without Atziri's mirror? Another +totem shield?

Edit: And some good totem defense to help with the Maven battles.

Is Crackling lance good now? Any theories on how new Elementalist could use it?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 04:21 AM PST

I'm leaning towards Elementalist as league start since this playstyle is something I enjoy the most and I can't wait to get my hands on new ascendancies. But I'm not sure which spells can get the most out of new changes.

CL seems interesting, we got like 250 flat gamage, with all the multipliers this may be huge, but I'm shit at theorycrafting so I'm hoping maybe some of you know better.

Best build with high survivability and few buttons?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 04:05 PM PST

It doesnt need to be fast, I dont like pressing a lot of keys while playing, and I dont like dying. What are the best builds for that? Originally I was going to go golems again but apparently it was nerfed bigly.

    Ignite Fireball Elementalist question

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 03:53 AM PST

With the new Elementalist Node "Shaper of Flames" all hits ignite. I use Storm Brand (which will only do lightning damage) for applying Elemental Equilibrium. If I link Stormbrand with Combustion, will the "Enemies Ignited by Supported Skills have -(10-19)% to Fire Resistance" still apply for the ignite from my fireball, even though it isn't the biggest ignite ticking at that moment? That way I could potentially free up a link from my fireball setup.

Elementalist exposure when going ancestral bonds

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:44 AM PST

I am thinking of making a lightning based totem elementalist. Would i be able to proc the new ascendancy notable which makes exposures you inflict reduce resistances by an additional 25%, if i use a trap+wave of conviction setup or does it only work with selfcast?

    Divine Ire elementalist

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:35 AM PST

I know its a hot topic right now but I'm also awful at designing builds. This sounds like a very good build but I'm unsure about some things: Ascendancies: take always ignite + shock with the two golem ones for defenses and QoL? Always ignite golems and inc exposure? Ignite, shock, exposure and conflux?

Conversion: is phys to light needed since we always ignite? I believe so, it makes base damage easier to scale.

Items: stormfire likely no longer needed but I heard about disintegrator, thats a late game scale I believe. PoB: I got no clue, I imagine one cluster and the usual dot stuff.

    All advice welcome, thanks.

    Divine Providence Staff CoC Inquisitor

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:18 PM PST

tl;dr - Divine Providence is OP. Enables you to get full damage of CoC builds and build defensively as an Agnostic mana stacking MoM build because of not needing to overinvest on crit nodes on the tree.

    Here is the pastebin: https://pastebin.com/2jj7pVBz

    Feedback greatly appreciated!

    Build features:

    - 4k life with 40% MoM (with no life on jewels in my PoB, so potentially 6k+ EHP with insane regen from agnostic)

    - 7k+, potentially 8-9K+ mana min/maxed

    - 15/30 attack and spell blcok

    - 20/20 dodge and spell dodge (omeyocan)

    - Doesn't need to go out of your way to stack strength/int for Divine Providence, but picks up 350/350 strength and int naturally

    - shaper's touch synergy from strength and int stacking, gives accuracy (for CoC proc) and mana (for agnostic and damage with indigon + arcane cloak)

    - flexible: pick whatever spells you want and go. I recommend lightning (wave of conviction for exposore) + arc or ball lightning (arc for clear, ball lightning for boss DPS)

    - Lots of flask effect and uptime

    - Permanent uptime on power charges

    - 14+ jewel sockets (4-5 are clusters) for endgame scaling and min/maxing

It's basically an agnostic build built with CoC, but enabled due to the insane crit scaling from Divine Providence. Because of this, you get extremely reliable CoC procs.

My personal suggestion is that building specifically to stack strength and int is a huge noob trap for Divine Providence. You can easily crit cap a build through natural int and strength, don't go out of your way to get more, it's diminishing returns. Better to build more crit multi, which is what this build let's you do endgame through it's many jewel sockets.

Anyway feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
