[AMA] Hi, I'm NeverSink, author of FilterBlade and my filter. Ask my anything. Posted: 13 Jan 2021 09:07 AM PST So, the primary reason, I'm doing that is to have a good opportunity to answer questions/concerns, arising from the 2 threads about me today. However, if there's anything you'd like to know about filterblade, the filter or me, here's your chance. PS: @the mods, I'm not even sure if that's allowed. If it's not, feel free to delete this thread. FAQ: Q: How do I update my lootfilter, during a new league: A: If you're using FilterBlade, just load your save and all changes get merged into the latest version. [link] [comments]

You can get banned for giving away items (and how I got bannned) Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:38 AM PST TL;DR: If you give away items, and the person who recieved the items starts botting with the account you can get banned. How I got banned: on Oct 23rd 2020 I ran some heists and on a loading screen this message popped up: "Your account has been banned by an administrator." Later after messaging the support team, I got the info that the reason was "Botting + storage" Ban appeal: 1 Hours after the ban I sent this ban appeal: https://imgur.com/a/Y3EIpVs It got rejected on november 4th The appeal system is terrible, the queue time at the time was 4 weeks. My case took probably less time because the Accounts Investigations Team didn't even check my account. What did I do to "deserve" the ban: I gave away items to players in towns of act 1-3 without visible micro transactions or obvious unique items (tabula, goldrim) because I had no time to sell these 2-20 chaos worth of items and figured giving them away would make someone happy.
How does this gets you banned? This is where the title comes in, some of the players that got the items started botting on their account OR bots accepts random trades in towns. Why not giving away items in global chat?: As I mentioned before I had no time to sell these, finding people in global who actually needs these items is hard and takes a lot of time, also people gets angry at you for linking cheap items in global! What was the "process" to give away items in towns? I requested a lot trades with people who did not wear mtx's nor twinking gear examples of this can be seen in the pastebin link. How can I "proove" that I did not use botting programs? I cannot. But here are all the information about my account.
Some questions that might get asked:

Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:49 PM PST And Betrayal is the tip of the iceberg. This game had too many core systems as of Legion. Now Harvest is back and Heist is core, and the Atlas has become even more complicated than it was previously. At what point is enough enough? At what point do we get to just play the game instead of constantly having to redo chores from previous leagues to just get back to being able to do what we were able to do before? PSA to GGG- Lots of people are hyped for Divine Ire which is currently bugged. Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:26 AM PST Hey Exiles, There appears to be a great deal of excitement surrounding the Elementalist changes and Divine Ire. Heads Up: Divine Ire is currently bugged. Every 3rd time (roughly) you end the channel and cast the laser, the laser does not render on screen. It is invisible. It still does damage, but the laser doesn't draw (the mobs either drop dead in a row or they burn for a short time, then die). It happens more frequently if you use LMB/Move to break your channel to cast the beam (which you will find is the most effective way after you play DI for a while). It also happens at a higher frequency if you are casting beams after only gaining a few stages (which is 95% of the time while mapping) This can be "fixed" by changing your network mode from Lockstep to Predictive, but in my experience the bug still presents itself, just at a much lower frequency. And for some of us, playing in Predictive leads to lag spikes often. There are multiple videos of this bug on YouTube. As well as many bug report posts about this on the forum dating back to when the bug was introduced around the time of the Harvest League launch (June/July). Now, this bug sounds pretty minor, but when playing DI it is extremely noticeable and distracting and just feels bad. My hope is that GGG can get this fixed in the first couple of hotfixes of 3.13 so that reddit isn't flooded with "ZOMG DI BUGGED AND UNPLAYABLE, WAY TO GO GGG" Thanks, hope you folks have a great 3.13 launch and may RNGesus shine his favor upon you all. Temper Expectations for Harvest Craft Availability Posted: 13 Jan 2021 03:17 AM PST I'm seeing a lot of people exclaiming that "Harvest is back!" while theory crafting all the cool things you can do with the mechanic. I just want to put it out there to not get too excited just yet. Knowing GGG's methodology when it comes to powerful mechanics like Harvest you should 100% expect absurdly restricted heavily weighted RNG based access to the best Harvest has to offer. You may end up crafting epic gear like you did back in Harvest league except this time it took longer to craft 1 item than the full gear for 3 entire builds made in Harvest league. Temper your expectations now and plan your builds like Harvest isn't in the game. Maybe you will be pleasantly surprised if I end up being incorrect... That is way better than banking on the idea that you can craft some niche item only to find out Remove-then-Add crafts are found once in every 50 Harvest Garden instances and Targeted Exalt and Annul crafts only show up once every 50 billion maps... I can already see the sub in flames 1 week after league start when people begin to realize that GGG doesn't want you to easily craft all your items exclusively through Harvest... It's probably a bad idea to choose your league start strategy based on the availability of Harvest Crafting Mechanics. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:11 PM PST I have played path for many years and whilst these days I invest a ton into off-meta builds I rarely get close too 30million CONSISTENT single target damage on any skill without using extremely expensive gear and even then I feel a ton of skills still fall well short of this you also have to consider than most skills need some form of clear and of course defences which to get a reasonable amount for all content requires some fairly heavy investment for most builds, either in terms of trading off damage or high $$$ investment in game I worry that players that are new or gullible may feel that 30mil dps is average and standard and will see themselves as terrible/assume their build or experience overall in game as a standard is sub par because they aren't hitting this "easy" milestone that others can so easily hit I feel its time to stop with the POB warrior nonsense and stop measuring your gobble gobble size and creating unfair standard that people can't hit but think they should be what do you guys think? am I the problem here? maybe I am just terrible at the game and I don't know how to build characters that can get 30mil dps easily at a low cost without giving up viability in other areas? I mean maybe some meta skills can hit this kind of damage on a low budget without giving up viability in other areas but outside of the top 20% of played skills I just cant really see it, if you guys disagree and have some example pobs you can link me I am genuinely interested too see :) Sorry about my poor grammar and potentially spelling English isn't my first language and I have some difficulties when it comes too typing/writing :P I hope this is easy enough for everyone to understand ^^ [link] [comments]
List of meaningfully buffed skills Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:00 PM PST TL;DR: 23 skills got pretty substantial buffs, a good amount of other skills got more minor buffs. It's not 40, but it's still pretty good. 1. Artillery Ballista: +2 Totems at Gem level 22, 40% more damage 2. Blink Arrow: 47% CDR actually makes this much more appealing as a movement skill, and is a nice buff for the summoner build. 3. Cobra Lash: 5% per remaining chain = 40% more projectile damage 4. Crackling Lance: 27% more damage 5. Frost Bomb: 37.5% more base damage, 50% more added damage 6. Hexblast: 20% more base damage, 12.5% more damage at max doom, 35% more damage total 7. Lightning Strike: 33% more damage with projectiles 8. Mirror Arrow: Same deal as Blink Arrow, the 47% CDR is a good buff to summoner builds, since Necro was better than Deadeye anyways. 9. Reave: 16% more damage, kinda on the edge but Reave is pretty solid mechanically so this buff aint to bad. 10. Scorching Ray: Double cast speed huge QoL 11. Searing Bond: 40% more damage. Has more base DoT than Flame Wall now, and Flame Wall is very solid DPS. For those that don't know, it links to you, so you just put the totems down and run through everything. 12. Shield Charge: 10% more base damage, 40% more armor/ev scaling damage, 2x the scaling crit. Skill has something of an AOE problem, but the DPS is actually quite high. Faster base AS than SST, with the 100% more damage at maximum charge mod. EDIT: Forgot General's Cry works well with Shield Charge thanks /u/Panama_Punk 13. Shrapnel Ballista: +2 Totems at 22, 40% more damage. 14. Siege Ballista: +2 Totems at 22, 40% more damage. 15. Spectral Shield Throw: 10% more base damage, 40% more scaling damage. 2x the scaling crit. Most people played this Deadeye, and it's losing that damage per remaining chain, but the large damage buff could make it more viable for other classes. Also Magna Eclipsis should be solid for crit, and Aegis got buffed there. 16. Spectral Throw: 50% larger hitboxes. Should be good for clear and getting extra ticks. Unsure total damage increase, hopefully it's pretty good. 17. Static Strike: 50% duration increase. Duration is the biggest problem with this skill, so this is quite good. 18. Storm Call: 25% more damage 19. Venom Gyre: Lost added flat, 43% more % damage. This could be pretty nice for ele buzzclaw-type builds, but the really neat thing IMO is now it has 40% chance to keep blades when you whirling blades, increasing to 65% with lab enchant, so you'll probably be able to get a LOT of extra damage using WB after stacking blades. Should have very strong clear. 20. Ballista Totem: 20% more damage, there are a few solid Ballista Totem setups so this is a nice buff. 21. Impending Doom: 100% more base damage, 12.5% more damage from doom. 125% more damage at max doom. 22. Unearth: 100% more cast speed, 40% less damage, 20% more total base dps, 44% more added damage effectiveness for dps. I feel like this is nice QoL for Spectrenate Dead since it goes Unearth > Spectre > Explode and 100% more cast speed will make it much smoother. 30% more corpse life, unsure how good that is for selfcast DD. Also as a standalone skill, I think this might be pretty good with Battlemage because of the large boost to added damage effectiveness. 23. Skeleton Mages: 50% more damage, 100% more proj speed. 24. Double Strike: Wasn't applying added phys vs bleeding enemies, pretty significant damage increase with bug fix thanks /u/SpiritKidPoE
I do think some of the buffs not listed here could be a more meaningful (stuff like 7% to Glacial Hammer, or a Firestorm buff that still leaves it in a real bad state), but this does give a large amount of stuff to mess with on top of the 3 ascendancy reworks. Hopefully this becomes a regular thing because there are still plenty of weaker gems (buff Icestorm). [link] [comments]

I think NeverSink should get paid by GGG and have his filters integrated into the core system Posted: 12 Jan 2021 03:01 PM PST Or at least GGG should release a highly optimized item filter of their own every league that also is editable in a GUI like filterblade.xyz. I have friends who have gotten into POE, and stopped playing because they didn't know about item filters and hated the default. Let's be real, how many of us would be screwed if NeverSink stopped updating his filters every league? I mean, he straight up spends so many volunteer hours to let us all have amazing filters we can easily customize on filterblade.xyz and he just does it because he loves the game and this community---I personally cannot thank him enough. But this makes me realize how important his filters are to my POE experience, and subsequently realize I would not enjoy the game nearly as much if NeverSink filters were not a thing. I recognize that we could all just make our own filters from scratch, but to me, personally, it would probably take time on the order of days to figure it all out and implement something worth using. I also recognize there are other filters out there, but I am unaware of any that have as nice of a UI as NeverSink's changeable filters. Again, it would be an extremely good QoL improvement to have an optimized filter for each new league that GGG itself released, and maybe they could even have it available to change in-game like the one in Grim Dawn (highly recommended other ARPG for when you get burnt out from POE). ... EDIT: Did not in any way expect this to blow up like it did, thanks for all the upvotes and the deep discussion! I am greatly appreciative of the comments that NeverSink made about his situation and it is nice to get some more clarity on this. His patreon is here: https://www.patreon.com/Neversink As an aside, I really do think the default filter needs to be worked on though and given options to edit it at least slightly in game. It doesn't seem like GGG finds their filter to be a priority because of the large community involvement but I still think that it would be beneficial in the long term to have a solid default that is updated every league as well. [3.13 Edition] Things I Wish I Knew Sooner Posted: 13 Jan 2021 12:04 PM PST Link to FGA wiki pageIf anyone missed last league's edition, we've made this into an official (well, subreddit official) wiki page called 'Frequently Given Answers', link above. Formatting's a bit better there (you can link to individual sections!) but keeping in line with what we did with the infothread we know there's plenty of people who prefer a post due to local format setups (RES/CSS/darktheme/etc), so here you go! I'll also be using a linked comment as a changelog for anyone that's curious what's changed, if anything.
