Posted: 22 Jun 2021 11:28 PM PDT TLDR: Perhaps no one will be surprised if archmage, MoM, Agnostic, and Arcane Cloak all get hit. However, I won't be surprised if Arcane Cloak gets hit the hardest, as it is, imho, by far the most OP of the 4. I don't think they will be able to nerf both archmage and AC to the point where the combo is not still the meta for pushing spell damage. Even extreme cuts to those mechanics still leave builds with millions of DPS and huge eHP, both of which still scale linearly with added mana so there's not really diminishing returns for mana investment. Instead, GGG, please give us other competitive gems and mechanics to scale base spell damage. Mana stacking is super cool, very on theme for casters, and deserves a prominent role in the game, so let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. Give me your thoughts, predictions, critiques, and any constructive comments. Also, patch notes when? \s xD Been thinking about all the chatter about archmage nerf in 3.15. How would they even go about trying to bring it "in line" with other supports? Seems like it's just that good. Last archmage nerf, level 20 added damage was dropped from 127% of mana cost to 108% of mana cost, or about 15% less added base damage for the same mana spent. Let's look at two examples at either end of the spectrum, taking their max damage at level 20: Penance Brand which has a relatively low base damage and a low damage effectiveness at 254 and 40% respectively, and Frostbomb which has some of the highest base damage and 2nd highest damage effectiveness in the game at 2003 and 300% respectively. Archmage raises cost of a skill to a minimum of 6% of unreserved mana, so to double the base damage of penance brand you would need 254 / (.4 * 1.08 * .06) = 9,800 mana pool. To double the base damage of Frostbomb, you need a similar 10,303 mana pool. These numbers are entirely doable, especially in trade league. This is super powerful. Now let's look at what happens in an extreme case where archmage is nerfed such that the current level 1 gem with 70% of mana cost becomes the new level 20. So, with our previous mana pools, how much does 35% less added base damage hurt us? Well, put another way, we are only doing 1.65% base damage. 65% more still! Correct me if I am wrong, but that's still basically the strongest support gem for spells (maybe some woke gems have higher multipliers? but since you can't buy those from Lily, I will leave them aside for now). And you can still push your mana pool to further that multiplier, since the added base damage is linear with mana. A 35% cut sounds a lot, but when you have builds smashing bosses in 10s of seconds, what's a few more? So GGG is unlikely to just make a gem go from level 20 to a level 1. I'd expect something between 85 to 95% of mana spent at level 20. They are also unlikely to cut damage effectiveness across all spell gems since that would be impossible to rebalance. It is also unlikely, but possible, they nerf flat or #% incr mana, mana flasks, and mana regen affixes/passives themselves, making it high investment to stack mana in the first place. I don't expect this because it creates potentially serious ripple effects for every other build and skill. What's left? Well, they can make mana stacking unattractive. I'm not the first to predict these. Nerfing MoM: getting between 50-60% MoM is decently common recently. They could reduce the Keystone by 5-10% and it would still be extremely powerful. An extreme scenario of 50% less nerfs across the remaining sources (Hiero, Cloak, Watcher's) leaves 15%, for a total of ~35% MoM effect. This seems about where you'd expect MoM builds to start falling apart... except with your 10k mana means 3.5k eHP on top of your life pool. We would see some more investment into life but MoM would not be dead by any means since mana is often easier for spell casters to get compared to life. Tanking big hits would still be possible. Nerfing Agnostic: If MoM lets you tank a big hit, Agnostic is what preps you for the next one. Again, an extreme 50% nerf means 10% life over 1s. That is equivalent to 5 maxed life leech instances. I think perhaps some investment into passives like Doryani's Lesson would become popular or even the humble life flask. Life leech sources are difficult to come by for casters, so this might really hurt. Last, Arcane Cloak: The best for last. This guard skill along with Dynamo notable are incredible. Lvl20 Arcane Cloak gives a life and es shield equal to 64% of mana spent (note, this is not always max mana), from which 75% of damage taken comes from first. And it gives 14% of that 64%, aka 8.9%, of mana spent as added lightning damage to spells. That's actually 37% more added damage than archmage, which I rarely see discussed. So combining the two actually more than tripped the Penance Brand and Frostbomb base damage from earlier. Dynamo gives you back 20% of that almost instantly, coincidentally equal to 1 second of Agnostic. 75% x 64% means your 10k mana has magically given another 4.8k of eHP for 3 seconds. AC does have a long base CDR of 4, but it's pretty reasonable to get more up time than downtime with stuff like second wind, increased duration support, and CDR gear. AC is the real reason why BF/BB et. al. are not needing 10k mana, but 8k, 7k or even only 6k mana to push deep into end game content. Okay, so thanks for coming to my TED talk. (Just repeating my TLDR from the top) My conclusions on what I would expect? Perhaps no one will be surprised if archmage, MoM, Agnostic, and Arcane Cloak all get hit. I won't be surprised if Arcane Cloak gets hit the hardest, as it is, imho, by far the most OP of the 4. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2021 05:55 AM PDT Any veteran support players out there? Would like to try out playing support next league. Scion seems to be the go to and all around best support class. I've checked out some videos and have some pobs. If you are playing with a party is there anyway to be helpful before lvl 90s? Or do you have to gear on the side for the full switch? I've leveled a scion once and it was terrible. Any advice on which skills, ascendancy choice would make the leveling smoother? I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy the support playstyle and my friends get bored about 4 weeks in and I usually play the entire league. The guides and videos are just really focused on lvl 90+ and almost min maxed characters. They don't go into what items to aquire first or any kind of tips on when to make the switch. Any tips guides or links you can give for a 1st time support player would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Any hood way to apply sniper's mark? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 03:00 AM PDT I'm preparing a build for the next leaguestart, and in the guide it is based on, sniper's mark is applied lvl 5 with lvl 1 cwdt, but the build is based on evasion and dodge, so it has pretty bad synergy and wouldn't be on most of the time, and low lvl. I've noticed there isn't a sniper's mark on hit anywhere and from what I understand it doesn't work with hextouch. So is there any actually good way to apply it? If not I'll probably use another curse and on-crit flask recovery... [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2021 01:13 AM PDT PoB: https://pastebin.com/Ur3F0u4s I understand that my current setup won't get the best out of replica FF, but I can't figure out what I need to change. I know my 5-L CWDT (plus frost bomb cast manually) is unusual for this build but I found I died a lot less when I wasn't worried about casting frost shield, cold snap, etc. and now I just cast frost bomb on bosses. The uptime of Frost Shield etc. is good. Questions:

Intermediate Player looking for a Good Cyclone/Spinning Build Posted: 23 Jun 2021 06:58 AM PDT Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I started out this League with the following build: [3.14] One shot Tectonic Slam Chieftain" by Jenno. I adore the build and I'm presently at 84 and it melts almost everything. But I want a build like some of those faster moving Cyclone Builds or something of a similar nature. I've tried out various other builds and nothing is rubbing me the right way. Any advice on builds is very much appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2021 04:33 AM PDT Hi guys I am somewhat new to the game (2nd league) and after investing time and resources into an elementalist vaal burning arrow and being happy with the progess I found coc/spear and wanted to give it a try, but I am need of some help from where to progress from here: https://pastebin.com/cDuFcYJ3 (18 points missing since I am lvl 91) Since my play time is somewhat limited and I can't spend tons of time farmng currency what I woudl be willing to do is sell all my ba gear and use the budget on this one, that would make me get a budget of around 20ex I would say With what I have and some investment can I get into XVI maps consistent enough and enjoy this new buid? Thanks in advance and sorry for wall of text but I trully am somewhat lost [link] [comments]
My goal in this game is to kill sirus or maven once. Posted: 23 Jun 2021 10:15 AM PDT I am new to this game and this is my first ever league where I played seriously. Is there a build which can help me get a sirus or maven kill on really low budget? I don't know how to farm and I barely have 5-6 exalts. Maybe next league I could get to 20-30 at most. Is there any build that can do enough damage to get those kills. Or any farming tips that can get me more exalts to get a build that can? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2021 09:58 AM PDT So this league i only played builds that are more focused on mapping (EDC, SA, TR) and now tested some potential league starters for 3.15. Now that i have some builds for mapping i could need some tipps for a bossing build because my build for bossing this league was Bleed EQ with like 5mil dps. What are some good bossing builds that i could use for league start or as my second char. Builds that i have already done or i dont like: BF/BB isnt my thing Vortex Spectres and Golems FP totems BL/GC miner Bleed EQ I can spend like 30-40ex budget to test the builds. A pob or a guide would be very nice to have [link] [comments]
LL Purifying Flame Miner Advice Posted: 23 Jun 2021 09:50 AM PDT Hey, I am looking for advice to improve my PF Miner. I managed to clear all content with it, but I feel like there is still room to improve the build. I am mostly looking for skill tree advice and item improvements (crafting ideas/directions). Also, I've got no idea how to calculate Mine dps in PoB, what settings should I use? Here is my current build: https://pastebin.com/tQMajKG8 Thank you! [link] [comments]

Looking to optimize melee "Trigger Happy" build for 3.14 and 3.15 Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:59 AM PDT Hello! I play simple, one button builds... uncomplicated and tanky. Been using my own version of Wrecker of Days "Trigger Happy" https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3113003/page/1 melee build. I have 5000+ life, can't be; Stunned, Bleed, Hindered, Corrupted Blood, or Maimed, at 83% Physical Cap, at 90% while fortify is up, with 82% chance to Block attack and spell damage, and all my resistances are capped. However, all that protection is really heavy, so I rely on the nice folks and monsters of Wraeclast to repeatedly hit me so they "trigger" my auto attacks, which make me "happy"! Here is my actual build https://pastebin.com/DCTTsjy9 Here is a link to my characters https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Yipp/characters What I hope to achieve by sharing this with everyone is pointing out obvious mistakes, flaws, overlooked nodes, uniques I may not be aware of, better gem selection such as should I use Divergent Bladestorm, Anomalous Maim? etc... I purposely did not use any cluster jewels this league, willing to add a cluster jewel that I can buy on trade..... ONE important point, I do very little crafting. Another thing to note I used the full Crab set, which has positives and negatives, which means I need attributes & resists coming from belt, rings, Jewels. I played most of the league with Jack, The Axe replacing it only last week for 1 Exalt with the Axe I use now. Finally I have tried to insert Pride, removing War Banner and Herald of Purity is not enough it requires removing Flesh and Stone Blood and Sand and War Banner, I am aware an Aul's necklace with no Pride reservation is an option to replace The Anvil, however it is above my budget to buy on trade. Again thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide! [link] [comments]
How to scale poison damage more effectively Posted: 23 Jun 2021 12:05 AM PDT Hello there dear Sirs and Ladysirs! I recently started making my first own build, mainly out of boredom. My main skill is Pestilent Strike, and I use 2 Claws. I've thrown sooome ex onto it already (I don't want to talk about xD But I don't care either) and I think I am missing something. I am around 160k poison dps, combined dps around 5 million. I run 1 large cluster with dmg while dual wielding, 2 medium clusters with damage over time. Im a pathfinder While I have zero problems with clearing maps, popping everything easily with a short pest strike (beside survivability issues, but I'm working that out atm, open for tips, but there's a lot planned) my single target really really lacks damage. The biggest question i ask myself is.. Am I missing something crucial to scale poison damage? Could someone tell me the most important stats for it, beside flat chaos damage on attacks? I'm not at home atm, but I can post my pob when I'm back, pretty sure that will help. Cheers! [link] [comments]
Need some help increasing my trappers survivability Posted: 23 Jun 2021 01:13 AM PDT Hi folks, been playing this trapper since Ritual league. His damage is absolutely perfect, I can melt a9 everything right now, but I'm looking for some help increasing his survivability. Its pretty much a dodge build, but I've found I get quite a few random one shots. I want to try and not nerf his damage at all, any tips or things I can do to increase it? HP is obviously a bit low, trying to get the remaining levels to try and get some more health/jewels (only playing him currently for chayula rotas, 70% atm, scary times). I was originally running a dodge small cluster to get the additional dodge while moving, but I feel like it wasn't really pulling its weight. I swap in a Rumi's occasionally for mapping instead of the Diamond flask, as the Lucky status isn't always needed tbh. But really, this guy is a bosskiller first and foremost and in general I prefer mapping with something else. I feel like some phys reduction might be needed so occasionally I use an armour flask. Budget-wise, were talking anything in the 50ex to max 100ex range is just about alright and anything I need to farm is fine too. I just feel like I've reached a point where I'm kinda blind going forward, this is about as powerful a character as I've ever made, so I'm unsure of how to advance from here. Thanks in advance! Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:43 AM PDT Build must be able to do all content with 30 40ex investment and it should be levellable ssf and should be able to do red maps ssf gear. I can invest money and I am in trade but I like to build chars in ssf mind. Like I can get uniques etc from trade but I like to craft my items as well. I really want fast clear speed. It doesn't have to be zoomer but if it is fast and specifically smooth(one button fast cast etc). I just wanna chill. And if it has herald of ice or ash it would be better because I really love herald effects they are so satisfying. Any ideas for any build? Edit: no ignite pls. I am about to puke from it played for last 2 leagues [link] [comments]
Searching for ways to stop my character from dying constantly Posted: 23 Jun 2021 02:19 AM PDT Hello there, I'm currently playing a Low Life Cyclone CoC Purifying Flame Inquisitor. Damage is okay I'd say, but in terms of defense it's pretty bad and I'm not sure how to add effective defensive layers without "breaking" this character. This Inquisitor uses Petrified Blood because it had a lot of Life and Energy Shield regen from its Ascendancy, The Oak shield and the Vitality aura. It also has 80% fire resistance (Purity of Fire) and some physical damage taken as fire (but not much at all). I have annointed Charging Offensive on the amulet to gain Endurance charges. Steelskin is mapped to left mouse button but it doesn't seem to be active enough time to really matter. Corrupted Soul is there to add a lot of Energy Shield and reduce the damage to the Life pool, while Unwavering Stance allows Cyclone not to feel terrible (I'm trying to craft stun avoidance enchanted boots but luck isn't there so far...). One of the main issues is the lack of gem sockets. It's really hard to remove one of the current gems to add a new (defensive option) one. When mapping this character dies way too often and I never know if it's from physical, elemental or chaos damage. I have crafted a large fire cluster jewel to have life leech but honestly it feels like leech has no effect at all, every little damage eats the Life pool noticeably. Same for Energy Shield leech (from Heart of Flame). Link to the character : https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Shimaran/characters (name is Templar_Of_Yaomac) [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:12 AM PDT Hello guys, I just did some changes to my league starter (icicle mine deadeye) to run some late yellow early red legions / breaches. Just tossed on what ever gear I had laying around, it feels pretty okey except that the dmg should probably be doubled to do it as smooth as I want. I don't mind a couple deaths every now and then, so survival ability does not need to get increased. I got quite a lot of different conq exalts, woke orbs, bases and fusings etc. Plenty of different uniqes like qotf, the pandemonius, devotos, stajonkas. The list could go on for long. Any advices on how to increase my dps? ( at work so can't link my pob, but got the armory link) Any info is appreciated. Have a nice evening :) https://poe.ninja/challengessf/builds/char/hamstermange/minaminorminor?i=1&search=item%3DWindripper [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Jun 2021 10:45 PM PDT Never played one and they look interesting- mostly for the tankiness and bossing. The two versions I'm looking at are the Champion from Orion72 (https://pastebin.com/undRccCZ) and this interesting version from another reddit/youtube, Juggernaut from Diss (https://pastebin.com/L6CY87ui). The Champion is a newer version I believe using quill rain + barrage + life gain and can sustain 70 virulence stacks I think. The Jugg version uses storm brand + poison + lesser poison and sustains 40 stacks. For what it's worth, the 'Maximum Hit Taken' for the storm brand jugg is twice that of the Champion at about 162k. Thoughts on which would feel tankier? Clear faster? Be smoother to play? They each have their pros and cons it seems. What's the in game difference of 70 stacks vs 40? [link] [comments]

Purifying flame or Ball lightning as starter, both probably as miner. Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:25 AM PDT Hey, I'm starting to think about next league and my starter as well. What do you think is stronger and scales better for mapping: Purifying flame or Ball lightning? My only request would be tanky or high evasion or whatever makes me not squishy. PF is nice because of his CG but that doesn't scale very good if I choose to have a lot of life. And BL is literally the definition of Attack is the best defense. I don't know what to choose. Can you help? [link] [comments]
Wich main skill benefits from increased duration support on the 6link setup? Posted: 22 Jun 2021 07:16 AM PDT I'm want to stack flat life gained on block by using Anvil+surrender+queen's hunger, and i want to have 100% upkeep on bone offering. I can get self temporal chains for that purpose, but socketing increased duration support on queen's hunger makes it really Easy. My backup idea Is to use traps on a pseudo 7link glove. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
