Hopefully the 45217 accounts that participated in the gauntlet shows GGG that we want races.

100% Heist Unique Collection in SSF and how the game broke me in half to do it.

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 01:27 PM PDT

TL;DR 1300 Replica Blueprints, 120 T1 Replica Uniques, around 2000 total blueprints. Highlight of the final unique here. Profile link here.

Disclaimer: This does not include Replica Bated Breath for reasons explained later!

It took longer than expected, but I'm back with another unique collection writeup. Originally, I collected every unique in SSF Standard during Heist League and wrote about the experience. If you missed the first one, you can find that here! It's a good read.

I have to admit, I'm not sure where to start on this one. It isn't as simple as just stating the number of blueprints and what I found in them. I think... I'll start at the end.

    The End

After I 100%ed uniques before, I was ecstatic. I was happy. I was content. I was okay. I was... bored.

I tried out trade league again for about two days in Ritual and just didn't find any inspiration. Nothing had really changed. I knew how to make money, but I didn't have any fun ideas on items to make or ways to spend it. So I restarted in Ritual SSF!

I enjoyed Ritual a good bit, and was still collecting uniques as habit. Viewers and friends made fun of me for it, but it was ingrained behavior. I got all the Ritual uniques after a few weeks because it was a good goal, then headed back to Standard to do some minmaxing with the new atlas passives and watchstones. And that's where it all began.

The Beginning (Also known as: Pre 3.14)

After some Standard minmaxing, I decided to focus on collecting Heist uniques and making some cool gear with Harvest. At the start, it was fun! New things were flying into my unique tab, I was learning how the mechanic worked, and it was pretty chill.

Since I had a deep delver, I could just fractured fossil Blueprints for "infinite" supply, which meant my main chokepoint was markers. I could not get enough goddamn rogue markers. I was running 100% Delirious, triple beyond, bugged quantity fractured maps with full player quant and 4 watchstones for Marker stack size and getting around 10-12k a map.

As much minmaxing as I tried to do, the simple fact remained - There was no better source of markers than simple running contracts. So I did. I crafted heist gear to minimize marker cost everywhere.

I fractured "No travel cost" onto an ilvl 76 Blueprint, the lowest you can go and still have 4 wings. The lower level saved about 1000 markers per Blueprint. I revealed no rooms, just the wings and go.

During this time, I also had some absolutely insane luck and managed to get my hands on a +2 Job Level Gianna gear. This gives her a 50% reveal discount instead of 45% and probably saved me hundreds of thousands of markers in the long run.

+2 Level gear is RIDICULOUSLY hard to make (31k chaos average) with no real method at all. This was probably the only thing in Heist I got lucky with, and you can find a clip of it here.

Shortly after this, 3.14 was announced. From there, the fall from grace begins.

    3.14

So, this is the part where we start talking about more than just the heists themselves. 3.14 was... well. To say it was bad for me is an understatement. To use a metaphor, I had created a factory to fabricate anything I desired. I built it brick by brick with my own hand. One day, a meteor came down from the sky and smashed that factory to bits.

    3.14 was that meteor.

I had delved to depth 10000 in SSF, run thousands of fractured maps, and over months built up the skills and framework required to essentially be able to self-farm and target ANYTHING I needed.

Fractured and other rare fossils became ~80% less common at deep depths, but as if that wasn't enough, an item could only be fractured once. Blueprints were no longer infinite, and my glorious empire crumbled to dust. As if to taunt me, 3.14 provided a small glimmer of hope - Heist on the map device. But more on that later.

    The Build

3.14 also provided radical changes to my heisting character. It was a Toxic Rain Pathfinder, utilizing Chainbreaker for the Berserk buff and Hardened Scars for tankiness through Fortify. You may see the problem here. Or rather, the problems.

No longer having Fortify was disappointing. A layer of defense lost meant I would probably have to give up some speed for tankiness. Unless... What about that new skill, Petrified Blood? As it turns out, if I used Petrified Blood, degen'd myself with Bloodrage, and used the smallest possible hybrid flask, the degen and recovery would effectively cancel each other out. I would be recovering life from a life flask, and still get Fortify. Success!

No longer having Berserk was not disappointing. It was simply unacceptable. Not only is it immense tank, but also movement speed. I was not losing it. At first, my solution was to simply... not attack. I'd proc Mirage Archer occasionally and keep on running through heist. Later though, I realized that switching to totems was a smarter move. You only have to pay the rage cost to place them. It wasn't perfect, but it was very workable.

There were a bunch of small changes to this build and gear swaps depending on if it was mapping or heisting, but you can find a more or less accurate POB here. Ichimonji weapon swaps, Overflowing Chalice swap to make it through a contract without killing and 100% flask uptime. I'm very proud of what I did with this build and "beating" the nerfs.

But the build nerfs were not the only obstacles to overcome. And the others were much, much greater...

    Post-3.14 Heist

When 3.14 was announced I delved for about a week straight before giving myself the last day off, and managed to fracture 404 Replica Blueprints. A solid amount, and I was fairly confident that by the end I'd end up with only Bated + one other big unique remaining. And I was right!

Along the way of course, I was still running other types of Blueprints for Curio Case uniques. I haven't forgotten about them, don't worry.

I decided to do what I usually do at league start - Play Standard for 1 month while GGG fixes the new league to actually function, and THEN enjoy the league as intended. So I decided to grind Heist hard.

By the time I finished my fractured Blueprints, all I had left was Replica Bated Breath and Replica Shroud of the Lightless. At this point I had done around 700 Replica Blueprints and ~200 Non-Replica.

Since Replica Bated Breath is a fishing item, and fishing items tend to have special drop conditions, it's very possible that it does too. Until we know whether or not these conditions exist, and if so, what they are, it's pointless to grind for it. Nobody on the SSF unique ladder even has one, so it might as well not exist.

So all I had left was one of the rarest replica uniques, but hell, I had all the other ones. It can't be that bad, right?

I didn't have fractured blueprints anymore, but I had Chaos and ways to get more. I had conveniently banked around 150 Infused Nemesis crafts to one day farm Headhunters for fun, but now they were given a different use. I rolled my watchstones in Lira to drop more blueprints, I farmed Nemesis Currency maps in Valdo, I ran lots of Zana heist, and I farmed for split beasts to get two copies of most blueprints I farmed. It wasn't near efficient as fractured fossils, but it was workable...

At least until supplies started getting low.

    The Iron Limit

The theme of the Post-3.14 Heist grind is this - I do my best with the resources I have. Those resources run out. I do my best with what I have left, and it works, but it's not as good. Then those resources run out. The cycle repeats.

So fractured Blueprints ran out, but I had TONS of beast scarabs and Infused Nemesis. It'll be okay. The beast scarabs rapidly deplete, and Heist still isn't done. I've done so many blueprints, why isn't it done? The horizon orb scarab recipe is introduced, and is my saving grace. I swap the thousands of scarabs I had from my fractured maps into things of use, and for a time, we keep collecting split beasts.

But wait, I'm about to run out of Infused Nemesis. I can't pay for Harvest since I need the Chaos for Heist. What's the best way to get Chaos without Nemesis Currency? I mean I can think of a few ways, bu-

Oh god. Oh no. The best way to get Chaos now... It's Heist. My grind is now running Non-Replica Blueprints to generate chaos to pay Zana to generate Replica Blueprints. This is hell.

I have an idea about beastfarming in Tirn's End, spamming maps for Great Migration since I have 800 Einhar missions. Holy shit, it actually works! Split beasts are back!

Two days later, I have no more Einhar missions. I feel frayed at my edges, like I keep barely scraping by with less and less and less and all there is is HEIST.

My mental health is not doing well. I take a two week break and come back, ready to go hard. My will starts crumbling after a few days. I honestly don't know how much more of this grind I can take.

It's been hundreds of blueprints since a new item. Weeks of time. Tens of thousands of chaos, thousands of maps. Literal mirrors worth of Replica Farruls Furs. People keep asking me if I'd rather find Lightless or Bated, and I say Lightless every time because I just want this nightmare to end.

I made the decision to have no cam/mic on stream due to the mental stress and exhaustion of doing both at the same time. At the end of the first day like that, I was 16 hours and 50 Blueprints in, 1300 Replica Blueprints overall. On the last blueprint of that day...

I cried, because I was finally free.

    Click Counter

    Hey Everyone,

I had some spare time today and threw together a tool that I wanted for next league: ClickCountR

    What is it?

It does what it says on the box, It will count all clicks, skill usage, flask uses and weapon swaps and display them on the little graphic.

It's a relatively simply AutoHotKey script - I genuinely didn't know how many clicks might be realistic so I covered up to billions, if someone gets past 999.9 billion it is going to start looking bad. Anyway I'll be interested to see how many clicks I get next league.

If you aren't comfortable running Executables from random strangers on the internet, that's fair - the full source is on Github, along with the release zip.

    ClickCountR

    https://github.com/timtwalsh/ClickCountR

    Edit: Couple quick points

    - Only works with Borderless fullscreen/windowed mode - like most trade/AHK macros.

    - If it does something wierd, just reload it in the system tray, it'll probably fix it.

So why is Perandus so rare to find and why are his "deals" so BAD the few times he manages to show up?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 07:03 AM PDT

I heard good things about Perandus before, apparently he was a decent mechanic during last league but similar to most satisfying and rewarding things in this game, they tend to get nerfed.

So I have been playing a couple months into this season and I have only seen him 4 times in total. 3 times inside the Betrayal safehouse and once on a map. This guy is so rare to see you would imagine he offers some great items in exchange for his coins right? Not really, all 4 time he was offering me some basic currency or a common unique to the point I didn't even bother trade any coins for it.

Is there something I am missing with this mechanic? If I decline his offer, is he supposed to show me a different item or does decline work like pressing X and closing the window? If he is so rare to find, why doesn't he offer something useful?

Was he perhaps overnerfed? If that's the case GGG should perhaps undo what they did and allow us to have some fun instead, especially in SSF where finding good items yourself is hard enough.

Windowed fullscreen - long frame time, low fps, only when focused window

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 09:57 AM PDT

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue that's driving me absolutely insane. I play in windowed fullscreen and experience "microstutter" where my frame times hit 16-18ms, and my FPS caps at 60fps even though I have vsync and foreground fps cap turned off. When I make something on my second monitor (like google chrome) the focused window, my frame times on POE drop to 6 seconds and my FPS increases to >100.

    https://i.imgur.com/6tZPP4r.png

This seems completely backwards to me. Why does POE perform better as a background task than it does in the foreground? I've tried vsync on and off, I've tried vulcan and DX11, I've tried windows10 game mode turned off and on. The monitor I'm running POE on is 144hz and I've tried setting the foreground FPS cap to 144, but it refuses to go above 60 as the focused task. My drivers are up to date. The only thing that has gotten POE to decrease it's frame time to ~6 and FPS to ~144 is setting it to true fullscreen, but that's not really an option for me as I do a lot of alt-tabbing.
