I took the liberty of putting together a "Cheap AF" shopping list for those who wish to try this build (less than 1 Exalted Orb in total): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15e8SAPHp3ZJp45jFs2l5g99RvRfPR62CF9i74uujDfQ/edit?usp=sharing

I wanted to help this guy out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO8MxstMpfk but YouTube hates comments with links from Google products it seems, so..

Hope this helps someone so I won't have wasted one hour of my life.

    EDIT: Grammar.

PSA: The Traitor keystone seems to have been ninja buffed (possibly a bug?)

    Posted: 14 Aug 2021 08:20 PM PDT

Hey there, after seeing this thread and reading the comment /u/zaedulus posted describing a mechanical change to the traitor keystone I decided to test myself in standard to see if it had been changed since I last tested it.

I was able to confirm that the traitor now gives 4 flask charges TO EACH equipped flask every 5 seconds per empty flask slot (and no, flasks in a disabled 5th flask slot using a micro-distillery belt do not count as an empty flask slot if you're wondering).

What this means is that the traitor is effectively quadrupled in effect while using 4 flasks, tripled in effect while using 3 flasks, and doubled in effect while using two flasks in comparison to how it used to function. This puts it at 80% the strength of pathfinder's nature's boon, ignoring the timing aspect of when you gain charges.

This could potentially lead to easier flask sustain on a majority of builds and open up completely new build concepts focused on "abusing" certain flasks.

I tested with 0 flask charge gained modifiers so I don't believe anything affected the results, and I would get the exact expected amount of flask charges each time. If you experience different behaviour or have further input please post a comment, I'm a big flask fan so this has got me pretty excited (hopefully this is an intentional buff but just undocumented as the traitor was a pretty useless keystone before).

Why do all aurabots do this? Don't you get way more aura effect by just taking the notable and putting a generic rmr/stats base jewel in the socket?

    Tanky Discharge Guardian (SSFHC)

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:17 AM PDT

This is one of the very few self-made builds of mine that actually somewhat worked out so I wanted to share and see if someone has ideas to improve on it. Disclaimer: The build is not on poe.ninja because I played in a small HC private league but all the items are self-made/found (except the shield). The build starts functioning in A4 when you get your ascendancy and unleash.

    POB: https://pastebin.com/nb8c9uNF

The basic idea is to use Guardian and Eye of Winter with unleash and chain to generate all the charges (and get Trinity running) and then blow up the screen. This works fairly well and I find mapping suuuper satisfying. For bosses we use hydrosphere (with chain on EoW) to make up for the lack of targets. Obviously, single target damage is lacking, we don't get off fully charged discharges every 2s so it's realistically around 400k or so. But I guess that's a problem for many non-meta SSF builds. There are two ways to significantly buff damage that I see: Discharge causes 50% shocks even against guardians, but shock duration is 2s which is the same as Discharge cooldown. So my plan was to anoint static blows and get two jewels with shock duration to get it to 3s. And then I'm only 4 points away from +1 curse which would be a big boost if I can get an assmark ring. Getting cooldown recovery would also help. Helm enchant that lets you keep charges would also be huge (could use second wind as 6th link). So I think in trade you could get acceptable damage, especially because it's easy to get massive crit multi jewels as discharge has all elemental tags.
The nice thing about the build is how tanky it is, we use petrified blood to get a lot of armor and block from Daressos courage which gets us between 49/48 and 75/74 (with Ruumis and conditional chance from Daressos) block. We have 3000 life / 1000 es with 500 life regen/300 es regen (if Rare is nearby). We run arctic armor / sand stance / fortify on shield charge. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a lifeleech setup running which is really bad because petrified blood gives free overleech but there are options of course.

In the end, I was clearing T11 maps fine and then died like an idiot in a lvl 68 delve getting stuck in a door with no darkness resistance and with my logout macro being switched off so I panicked and degened to death ...

If someone has ideas on how to improve damage (and charge generation) on bosses I'd be happy to hear them because I definitely plan to rerun the build next league.

    FAST Mapping/Heisting build with HH?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 01:24 AM PDT

Hey guys i League started with toxic Rain Raider this time and got about 70ex invested. Most expensive stuff was the Male dot Watchers eye and bottled faith and the bow which was mainly self crafted. Yesterday i bought a HH for 80ex and i knew it wouldnt be that great with toxic Rain. So what build would you suggest for a good HH usage? Im thinking about iceshot, Tornadoshot, explosive Arrow, ele Hit, lighting Arrow, maybe a new Skill? Dont wanna lvl a 2nd char so it should be Raider/deadeye.

Please Tell me the Minimum Budget for t16 to get it going - upgrading in the future wont be a problem

Build should be able to kill conquerers and sirus, rest is not that necessary cause i wanna Farm Maps/delve/heist/ Expedition.

Is Spark viable outside of herald/aura stacking?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 02:48 AM PDT

I wanted to try a Spark build and I stumbled upon a cold conversion Occultist build on poe.ninja, that looked very interesting, especially because of the cold conversion(love shattering sounds ;))

But upon investigating it I realized that it is some kind of Herald stacking build, designed to run in a group with an "aura bot", if I am not mistaken. When I checked other Spark builds, it looks like all of them are some kind of aura/herald stacking builds, designed to run in a group.

Is it the only viable way to run the spark as main skill? Is it possible to make a solo viable Spark build?

Quick question about Smite and Hydrosphere

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 02:07 AM PDT

Can you double the damage of smite with hydrosphere and an ancestral call effect? I know you can with glacial Hammer + threshold jewel, but I'm not sure about Smite.

For example, you target the hydrosphere and hit the boss with the AOE and then your additional strike hits the boss also

"All the holy meme" inquisitor: Smite CoC Wave of conviction + Battlemage's cry Purifying flame

    Posted: 14 Aug 2021 12:52 PM PDT

    Hi fellow exiles.
Today i present you my ssf expedition build. It is the only character i played this league, and reached level 90 so i decided to share it:
It is an inquisitor with martyr of innocence, that damages with both spells and attacks. it is not even close to beign super beefy or zoom zoom, but it is tematically oriented and looks cool.
It currently have around 600 life regen, and 1000 life leech. mana regen is good and mana leech makes it never dissapear. life pool is around 6000.
It is oriented to hitting most of the time, and reaching almost 100% critical chance with attacks (without neglecting spell critical). this is the maind offense, since damage with criticals ignore elemental resistances here.
defences here are: enfeeble, sand stance, artic armour, block from staff, endurance charges, fortify, and some bits of armour. It is as softcore as it can be, but it survives many things.

    here is the PoB:
    https://pastebin.com/dtxcHe5R

the leveling process: first i ascended using "instruments of virtue" and without CoC setup, using battlemage cry for my main triggered spell. in act 10 i got my third ascendancy and started to yolo gamble highborn staffs until i got martyr of innocence. then respected instruments of virtue for sanctuary, then got augury of penitence. some regrets here and there.

In terms of gear, i'm not very good at crafting lol: all rares are Rog / harvest reroll / fossil reroll. jewels are alt spamming + regal.
my flasks are bad, instilling orbs are on low supply right now.
wanted to try a ngamahu flame + eye of innocence self ignite combo, but got bad luck on gambling.

my account is Scandicvs, this toon is Toucan_Praising_Dude

ideas to improved are welcome and encouraged. I want to push this toon as high as possible.

thanks for reading. here is a screenshot just for the swag (the skills visuals match the yellow glows and all that, but i cant post video because of my potato pc setup lmao)

Help my scuffed CwC Discharge Chieftain

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 01:05 AM PDT

I wanted to play an old school front loaded Discharge build instead of an ignite based one, and decided to use Martyr of Innocence's Battlemage to scale the damage, as well as stacking as much Endurance Charge generation as possible to keep up the endless discharge cycle. Right now, the build does not do amazing damage (the AoE is crap too because of Endless Misery threshold jewel), though the tankiness is...somewhat ok?

I'd like to be tankier and do more damage, obviously. I still need to do my Uber lab to round out my Fire Resists, but for some reason, Izaro spanks me. Or is this build just not viable in 3.15 and should I just respec a bit and just go for CwC Volatile Dead.

Do I need a high investment to start a Deadeye LA/TornadoShot/IceShot focused on farming maps?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 01:00 AM PDT

Looking for a Deadeye build that is focused on farming maps (I think some people are running a Glennach region strategy but can't remember which one now), since I've always liked Deadeye and those faster maps I was wondering if the investment to start one is too higher.

    Can someone answer me?

Looking for boss killer build to do the conditional kill challenges.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:41 AM PDT

Hey, this is first league in which I'll be making 3rd character. Like title says I'd like a build that should make conditional kills on expedition bosses easy (im even fine with 2 out of 4 challenges). Id like to explore new mechanic, that I never used like CI, CoC, spellsinger or archmage. Do you have a build suggestion for me? A guide maybe?

Looking for some advice transitioning my build into late game - mainly survivability issues

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:26 AM PDT

I've been playing storm brand assassin this league. Here is my POB - https://pastebin.com/vX01psE9

I've been taking some inspiration from this POB - https://pastebin.com/Bxt5xiDw but I just keep getting one shot in higher tier bosses. I've not been able top progress past lvl 83 because I keep dying to t13+ map bosses before I can level up any further.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

(SSF) LF off-meta league starter capable of farming yellow maps with low gear investment

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:11 AM PDT

I'm in a quest to find the most confortable off-meta league starter possible. This includes equip-and-go gear (simple essence/vendor/bench crafting is ok), enough dps (good clear speed) and enough survability not to get one shot.

Meta being: SST, Toxic Rain, FR Totems, SO Spectres.

Also: I find dodge/evasion builds too squishy, I'm not really confortable with them, though I'm opened to hear builds in this category.

    So far I've tried:

    • Dominating Blow - Guardian (7/10)
    • Spellslinger Storm Brand - Elementalist (8/10 in campaign, 6/10 in maps) too squishy
    • Frost Blades - Raider (6/10) too squishy and low dps in maps
    • Any skill Earthbreaker Marauder (4/10)... zdps build, huge pain to level up

Appreciate any other build suggestions. Thanks!

Somewhat tanky builds that melt bosses very quickly on 30-40ex?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:10 AM PDT

I don't care about clear speed, could be a quicksilver-less snail for all I care. I just need some reliable bossing.

Help With My Dominating Blow Build Tankiness

    Posted: 14 Aug 2021 07:14 PM PDT

I need help improving my dominating blow character, I started the league pretty late and I am playing this build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3039205. I have a bunch of problems though, my damage is fine but I seem to die instantly to a gust of wind (not tanky at all). And I also have trouble getting going on maps (prob just a dominating blow problem but thats not the main issue). In short im wondering if I made any mistakes and how I can make the build tankier. POB: https://pastebin.com/MCNEFr26

EDIT: I have around 2ex to make improvements.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Evasion, Ward, Block, Charges

Hey community, I was wondering if I was maybe onto something here. I'm pretty new to making my own builds, and this is the first time I've dove into a build that I came up with on my own. Here is the PoB link:

    https://pastebin.com/aLU0GMsy

Its a chaos poison build, and I'm trying to get the damage out of dendrobate and the new ward gear, nightgrip. I decided I wanted endurance charges and block, but I didn't want to sacrifice too much of my damage, so I'm going dual claws and dual wield block chance. That will also be how I get frenzy and endurance charges. As of right now, I'm still progressing this character through acts, but I was wondering if I could get any sort of suggestions to improve my idea. Thanks!!

    Rage CoC DP suggestions needed

    Posted: 15 Aug 2021 01:33 AM PDT

So I've just made this build, nothing too exciting, yet I feel I'd like some feedback on it.

    Accountname: Olafant

    Charactername: RageSkellies

The concept is using berserker to get Rage on Battlemage's cry, then throwing a Rage Vortex/Rage Storm that summons skeletons on hit. The Rage storm then continues to trigger Dark Pact via Cast on Critical.

Since it scales with minion life I can keep support spectres, golem and animated guardian alive. Current concept would work with Power charge Chieftains, Stone golem and Kingmaker AG.

Oh and one weird thing in there is the Blackflame ring. It's making sure my wither stacks don't expire. There's a small bit of fire damage to attacks in my gear and Rage Vortex' high crit chance keeps enemies ignited. Don't know if it's worth it, yet it felt smart. And there some resistances provided by the ring.

The logical first upgrade is to get some extra life nodes.

So what do I want to keep: The skill gems used. I like Rage Vortex, Darkpact, BmC and summon skeletons. Beyond that please get me suggestions to experiment with.

Current budget is about 5-6 ex, so sadly headhunter isn't an option.

    Bane vs Hexblast/Doomblast? Both?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2021 04:44 PM PDT

I got a Heretic's Veil in SSF so I decided to run a Bane Occultist because I loved Bane the last time I played it, and way back in Sacrifice of the Vaal I ran a triple blasphemy trapper using this helmet.

I haven't touched Bane since the new hex/curse changes though, and I keep seeing passives with Doom etc on them and it made me curious.

    • How are hexblast and doomblast? Are they both part of the same build?
    • Are they used alongside or instead of things like Bane?
    • Are they worth using with a Blasphemy setup?
    • If any of you have played a build with them, how did you find it?

What next- upgrade FR totem or switch to something else?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2021 04:46 PM PDT

Working on my forbidden rites totem build, and saved up 6ex so far. But not sure what to upgrade next or just hang onto it and keep grinding. Definitely feeling squishy. Suggestions on where to go next? PoB: https://pastebin.com/PusQqvR5

Honestly though, while trying to figure out what to do next with this build, I'm finding it pretty slow and clunky. I played a raider last league so I'm probably spoiled. Maybe that 6ex is enough to get started on an ele hit raider build? I do have a raider at 74 I could use.
