For the Love of GOD please quit locking mission items in the inventory.

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 12:30 PM PDT

When I fail a heist mission that has an item associated with it, its stuck in my inventory until I find that contract again. I currently have 4 slots that are locked beacuse I can't store those items. We have a Heist Locker, how about you let us use that...

The entirety of this subreddit is completely ignoring Heists scaling.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 09:21 PM PDT

DISCLAIMER: THIS POST IS ONLY IN RESPONSE TO THE LOOT, ALARM METER AND GRAND HEIST COMPLAINTS. I do not like one shots, crashes, bugs or body blocking either.

With so much negativity in this subreddit in the past 48 hours, it's hard to gather one's thoughts properly to even attempt to write a counter piece, but here goes:

HEIST IS BALANCED FOR LATER ON IN THE LEAGUE. YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET ALL THE LOOT IMMEDIATELY.

    That's the tldr.

    Explanation:

Tons of complaints are pointed towards the alarm meter rising to quickly, yet many people seem to conveniently forget that there's straight up characters (and map Mods) that reduce this alarm level substantially.

I'm not that far into my heist progress (most rogues have one lvl 3, rest one), but I'm already at the point where I can reliably open EVERY SINGLE STASH (either all the small ones, or all the big ones, or combination thereof) in every heist that I bring specific characters to. Especially karst is the poster child for this.

And yes, that includes killing guards to make the jobs go quicker. I ignore the mobs between each door that requires jobs, but kill the ones close to job doors immediately.

But this is not even all there is. It seems that all the people complaining about the alarm meter and rewards, especially grand Heists, conveniently ignore the entirety of the equipment system.

Not only does each character have 3 inventory slots, but each item has VERY POWERFUL effects.

Just a singular one of them can easily stack up to 20%+ reduced alarm level generation. ON ANY CHARACTER.

For grand Heists, with just three of those items stacked, that's 60% reduced alarm rate.

And that's just ONE item slot, out of three.

Most of you have likely not even SEEN an item for all three slots of a singular character, much less spent a singular second to craft them and set up some equipment for your rogues.

This is not legion league, and it's goos that isn't. This is a progression league, where you progress as a heist boss, together with your rogues.

With them getting better and you pulling off successful heist after heist, you will all become more proficient at that exact thing, heisting. Represented here by LITERAL EXPERIENCE as well as the upgrade items for your rogues, which can substantially decrease alarm, increase rewards, make you tankier in the runs or increase your damage, etc. Etc.

Stop whining about every league mechanic and its balancing, before you even spend a single proper second to investigate the entirety of the mechanic.

Stop ignoring the MAJORITY OF THE LEAGUE, just to push your own story of how everything is bad and unbalanced.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Heist can drop double corrupted items

FYI, Heist rewards are based on profession

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 11:57 PM PDT

This is what I gathered so far:

    • Agility - Harbinger + Essence + Delve
    • Brute Force - Weapons
    • Deception - Armor
    • Demolition - Delirium + Oils + Metamorph
    • Engineer - Unique + Maps
    • Lockpick - Currency + Fragments
    • Perception - Cards + Prophecy
    • Thaumaturgy - Jewellery + Gems
    • Trap - Legion + Abyss + Talisman + Breach

Apart from all the bugs, Heist is mechanically the best addition ever for us non-hardcore mappers

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 10:48 AM PDT

Heist is the first alternative endgame system in PoE that does not depend directly on the mapping system, and it is making me play way more.

I love this game, I love theorycrafting and keeping up with all the teasers before the league start. I play a lot at the start until typically early red maps and totally enjoy it. But after the first 48 hours in the league, I regularly get bored of mapping. After an hour or so, putting a new map in feels like a chore. I still want to play the game, just not map. Up until this patch, you had the following alternatives:

    1. Master missions, which still are extremely dependant on mapping to get to do other content. The closest alternative is Delve, but if you run out of juice you are forced back to mapping to get more.
    2. Blighted maps, which imo are the only independent alternative to a mapping experience although still somewhat similar. And you can't sustain them at all, either you trade for them or its back to mapping.
    3. You can reroll, which is the thing I do most of the time. But I didn't really want to reroll, I just wanted to not map. This results in a string of lvl 50-60 characters that I never finish because it wasn't the right time. After too many fails in a row, I eventually get so bored that I stop playing at all.

Heist is the first mechanic that feels like a completely separate experience from mapping. They are connected to each other through drops, but between the vendor and drops in heists it's very easy to do contracts any time you want, no restrictions. And the experience feels complete: low intensity in low-level contracts, high intensity in blue prints, very rewarding, many ways of investment with gear and rolling contracts etc.

Many times since league start I have gotten bored of mapping and could instantly go do some heists for a bit, and then get back to mapping when I got bored of that. They feel very different both visually and in pace/experience, thus complementing each other very well.

Of course it has been a very rocky league start with many bugs, but once they are solved, I think GGG has struck gold with this concept, and should consider investing more time to implement it as a full-fletched endgame system.

td;dr: only mapping -> bored, mapping + heist -> fun

Abyss not progressing past the first stage?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 06:08 AM PDT

Does anyone else have this issue?

Just happened to me in 3 separate instances.

I'm killing mobs, but they just keep spawning and the next stage isn't triggering, so after some time it just ends without a reward chest.

Damage certainly isn't a problem, I'm killing mobs pretty fast.
